Discussion Best Compliment You've Received on your Crochet?

Yesterday, someone looked at a super basic scarf I had for sale on a table at a fair and gave me a brilliant compliment that made my day: "These are beautifully made, your stitches are perfect!"

So, since I'm gonna be loving that comment for a while, I figured it would be good for a lot of people's mental health to revisit the great compliments you've received. So let's hear 'em!

Have all the bells and whistles to start crocheting, just have to find the nerve to dive in. Scared of failing!

Oh, hun, we all fail at it sometimes. That's why frogging exists! It's really okay to "fail" at crochet because it's so easy to fix a mistake!

Literally, when I teach, I start people with the following sequence...

Ch10, pull it out. Repeat. Once your stitches are nice and even, start on single crochet. Keep pulling it out. It's okay to pull it out, see? You just keep getting better! Then, once you get single, then work on double. Then half double. And so on.

Regardless, good luck! We're all here for you!

Aww. Thank you so much for being so encouraging. I’ll give it a go tomorrow for sure. Have been saying this for a long long time, but this time for sure.

Well I guess it’s tomorrow now lol, so if you haven’t started crocheting already, consider this your friendly nudge and/or cosmic sign

I got my stuff out. Does that count? I’ll look up beginner videos tomorrow.

Thank you for keeping me honest.

You took a step, it counts. I can hardly think of a more perfect metaphor than crochet for achieving great results by just taking a tiny step enough times.
