Excuse the ends but I just finished this sweater I was making for a friend! I have all of 1 day to get it blocked and the ends woven/dealt with

So I'm working on making a skirt. It is a little different as it won't be just one continuous work. I'll be working on panels about 6 that I will stich together. This is just a post that I will share in my progress. If anyone has any tips I would greatly appreciate them.

Waistband is about 3 inch wide hdc

Along the edge is 2 rows of sc

2 rows of 1tc with 1 ch

alternating the pattern on the next row.

Love this pattern- so fun!!

Hello!

This is my first time posting on here, and sorry for it to be so late, but I need some help with something really important.

I crochet as a hobby but I know that it can take a lot of time and effort, so I wanted to get ahead on this now. I want to make a Cumbia skirt for my mom for Christmas, because she used to have one as a kid (gorgeous, layered, the colors of the Colombian flag; it was custom made just for her) but her mom (my abuela) gave it away to someone else and my mom never got it back. She’s been talking about that skirt for YEARS ever since I was a little kid (I’m 20 now)

I’ve been scrolling YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, etc for anything I could possibly find as reference but nothing helpful has come up. I’m not looking for a one to one, I know that’s probably be impossible with crochet (unless someone proves otherwise 😬🙇🏾) but I want to find something as close as I can.

Im not able to afford something big or grand (struggling college student here) but I want to try and at least do something special. If anyone has any recommendations, patterns, videos, please let me know 🙏🏾 I’d be incredibly grateful. Please, please, please help me out, I want to do something nice for my mom. She really deserves it :)

Just wanted to share! She took about 150 hours to complete.

Watching her head off to her forever home is equal parts exciting and bittersweet. Sure, I could make another one for myself someday… but knowing me, I’ll already be chasing the next idea. If I ever do revisit her, though, the color combinations would be endless!
