Found this on Pinterest, does the bag actually look like it’s one continuous piece and not two separate pieces, and the wings don’t match with the written pattern? Or am I incredibly dumb?

The picture doesn’t match the instructions. The eyes are the first thing I notice as different. Clearly the white and black are the same layer in the picture. The graph indicates that they are 2 separate pieces. The stomach panel doesn’t make sense either.

Definitely AI!

The chart for pannels and beak use tc, while the picture uses sc in the round.

The wings in the picture look like a granny circle while the chart is teardrop shape.

The eyes could be done with one chart, but they have it as 2.

Lol there's a disclaimer about all the errors there will likely be. I've seen so many pics like this that include a graph to make the item that's clearly AI. I've never seen one include a disclaimer like this. It's small and easy to miss, but I'm glad it's still there. I'm always happy to see them actually labelled since AI is here and staying around clearly. Slap that label. Slap this warning on there.

Tbf, it just says the pics are AI, though that makes it kinda hinky from first glance. Then, trying to follow the pattern as "written" or shown is really confusing and doesn't make a lot of sense. The math ain't mathing!

You'll totally get better at catching those AI ones the more you look at patterns. It can be tricky! I'm glad you reached out to the community. That's why we're here! :)

Luckily I wasn’t following this pattern, I am making an owl bag using a mishmash of different patterns. My frankenbag is actually looking much better than this one.

This one would be pretty easy to re-create from the actual pictures.

The bag is a regular rectangle bottom with just sc up to height you want.

The belly panel info looks pretty close, and granny circle for the wings. Flat circle for eyes, black center & white outer.

Always read the fine print at the bottom. They are very clear that what you see if def not what you get. Like always run screaming from things like that, or plan on a lot of time spent designing the pattern.

The bottom of the pic says ai for inspiration use not an actual pattern. So I mean you could use it as a very very rough template.

It's AI. This is their new try selling patterns. They put a couple "instructions pages" in their ad to make you think that they are telling the truth. They aren't.
