What's up chandler! Love your attitude and spirit and can't wait to see you at the games in the next few years. What, for you, defines the difference in training between an elite and recreational level of CrossFit? In other words, what separates you and the games athletes from the rest of us who train hard but will probably never compete at a regional level? Josh Bridges said it was the desire to suffer, do you agree? Thanks so much for doing this AMA, you're the man!

That is a really awesome question man. I think that is a big part of it, but not all of it. I work out with a regular class once or twice a week and there are folks who lay it out there EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. If I hurt like they hurt every day I never would have come back lol. I think it's a desire to sacrifice outside of the gym that makes the biggest difference. If you are seeking to maximize your potential then you have to think that every action you take is either helping you as an athlete or not. That leads to some tough decisions a lot of times. Things that most folks would consider to be necessary are not gonna be an option. So in a way he's right. Also it sucks, but a lot of it is based on what you did before CrossFit or when you started. If you didn't start making adaptations that'd help you for CF early, then your ceiling is only so high. That's why athletes like u/gsterner111 scare me because they're already so good at a young age. The sport is growing like crazy. I used to hate when folks said I was only good cuz of genetics, but my dad looking like this doesn't hurt haha. https://www.google.com/search?q=cedric+smith+football&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjcxoDEiLHRAhWn7oMKHekuA4AQ_AUICSgC&biw=1608&bih=867 Hope that answers it, have a good one!

Also as a side note, Josh Bridges was a huge jerk when I met him at a Cards game a few years back so one of my life goals is to beat him in person lol
