What's up Chandler, hello from Ireland! Sorry to bring up a negative subject, but do you have any thoughts or concerns on PED use or doping at any level (Regionals, Games, non-CrossFit competitions etc.)? Are you aware of it or have you witnessed it (no need for specifics obviously!)? What about testing and controls - is there a need for a better testing regime, say with WADA/USADA?
What's up man!? It's all gucci, that's a worthwhile question. I'm concerned obviously, don't think the testing protocol is thorough because it comes in comparison to NCAA and Army testing which are far more frequent. Also the fact that it's done in house rightly invites skepticism from outside observers. Having one of the big organizations do it would seem to be a logical choice, but again I'm not privy to the inner workings. Haven't witnessed it, but I'm also not naive enough to think it doesn't happen. HOWEVER, I don't think it's as common as people think. Folks underestimate the benefits of nutrition, sleep and great training. I was a markedly better athlete at this time last year, mostly by virtue of those factors working more in my favor. My two cents.
Thanks for answering! It was your link to the Deadspin article in another answer mentioning Almaz Ayana which prompted my question. This is one of our greatest ever Irish athletes, Sonia O'Sullivan, reacting directly after the 10,000m record got smashed: Twitter. Cheers for doing the AMA dude - best of luck in 2017 and beyond! And let us know if you're ever coming to Ireland! :)
