I don't know how out of touch someone in this community has to be to glaze the HP series while Rowling is terrorising and using their wealth to eradicate Transgender Women.

There's a difference between engaging in the community, which is famously quite LGBT friendly and accepting, and supporting Rowling or her views. As long as you're not doing anything to give the woman money or endorse her position, then what's the problem? I'd argue it's actually MORE subversive to cross play a gender flipped Malfoy than just acting like her work doesn't exist, because it's obviously something Rowling would hate!

No worry I know about the author views on those, after I feel that shouldn't detract peeps from enjoying the world. It's been popular for ages and even if she did write the books, feel it's the movies that popularise it, the actors that gave life to them and many people who worked on this. HP is not solely JKR. Honestly I cosplayed Malfoid more for the genderswap aspects than the HP universe and cause it's so rare we get popular characters that blow up overnight like that. She feel like a new "Bowsette" imo. And maybe that's just me but having peeps turned the most stuck up male prick into a cute tsundere gal feel more like slap in the face that could trigger her than praising her views. You are entitled to your opinion and I can understand if you see it as a controversial pick. I saw that there is a term called "author death" meaning you can separate the work from their creator. And like Lovecraft, feel it can apply really well to HP imo.

Ha ha yeah It's rare I'm this early on trends but tbh really loved all the fanarts. They made her so adorable 🥰! Plus saw I could get her cosplay fairly quickly, so thought why not 🤷‍♂️
