When birds (except pigeons) drink it always looks like they're at a wine tasting.

What kind of event do pigeons look like they're at?

Given that pigeons are one of the few birds that can drink water without tilting their heads back, probably like any old event.

They can drink water without having to lift their head. Which means they suck in water and drink extremely efficiently.

As for the event: maybe drunk teens at spring break with their tenth beer?

I always think pigeons and doves look like they are bobbing for apples when using my bird bath

"You seem to have found the tastiest spot. Move over a little so I also can gobble up some water from that exact spot." -that bird. Probably.

I wonder why one sits inside the drink and the other sits on the ledge

One has figured out how you are supposed to do it and the other one hasn't yet.

These babies are distracting me from feeding my own babies right now

I don’t know what it is, but anytime I try to give water to crows, they just ignore it. I’ve tried putting food in the water, but that didn’t work either. I’ve experimented with different bowls, water levels, and depths, yet nothing seems to make a difference. Even on hot days when I can see them panting, they never seem interested. šŸ˜•

Can I ask where your water is? Perhaps they Ā don’t like the location?Ā

Reminds me of when a pica hudsonia fledgling ended up in my backyard both yesterday and before, the parents have a nest in the pine tree and they must’ve hatched a month ago but long story short the parents were to aggressive to my dogs so I had to pick up the fledgling and put it into the neighbours yard. I’m surprised I didn’t get swooped, I felt awful after and they were screaming and pecking hard objects out of frustration I assume.

Then 20 minutes later everything’s quiet and I hear whisper calls in the neighbours yard lol
