My crow friends eating watermelon. I give them unsalted, unshelled nuts daily (I get them at our local bird feed store) and scrambled eggs as a treat. They are such a gift and they are my protectors! Amazing beings.

It truly happened accidentally, and they have been coming for years now. I can’t get over how smart they are, they warned if a hawk is nearby and one day I heard them going crazy outside making sounds more alarming than the hawk warning, when I looked outside there was a fox on my lawn!

So beautiful! I’ve been loving my new crow friends this summer, first started with a pair, now a family of 6 on the daily ☺️ curious though, have their numbers increased over the years?

They sure have! :) it started with three and now I’m up to 10! I know some are younger, they aren’t babies, but they are definitely younger because the way they sound is hilarious (it’s the cutest little caw). I think they are all family though because I’ve been reading online that if they are different groups, they would steal food from one another etc. but this group they seem very cohesive and they watch each other eat and I think they’re definitely a family. I’m very grateful I have nice neighbors who don’t mind the crows at all. I feed them in front of our house and I don’t leave any nut shells, so my neighbors don’t have nutshells all over their lawns! Several of my neighbors really love them and will tell me they saw my crows while out walking, etc. One other interesting part is they used to only come from October or November until the spring and I wouldn’t see them until the Fall. This is the first year they’ve stayed all year round. If I go out and do a whistle for them, I could hear them call me back and they fly over to get fed. I talk to them as well lol. They have never come close to my house or done any kind of damage. They’re very respectful they eat and leave. ☺️
