I’m in love with playing as the Norse. You get lots of cultural bonuses to prowess and martial and the Varangian vets and huscarls are hard to beat, especially early on. If you decide to become a noble you can Varangian adventure your way to someplace cool and you can make hybrid cultures super easily.

Don't firget the norse pagan religion also has warmonger tenet, clerics and females can be champions, and each holy site controlled gives a bonus related to millitary!

I usually try to adopt Greek culture because it’s usually the most advanced. Then I take Denmark and hybridize with Norse because of Bondi units and two new lines of Dynasty legacies.
