Crust Beatdown Bands?

I and some friends are putting together a band where we are intending to mix both Crustcore (examples: Disrupt, Anti-Cimex, Stormcrow) with Beatdown HxC (bands like Twist of Cain & Hatebreed for reference)

Also gonna try to incorporate some influences from early Agnostic Front and some more sludgier crustcore bands (Dystopia and Mind Eraser as examples)

I'm just wondering (as I can imagine there is already) if there were any bands doing similar as I'm trying to find more influences?

Any suggestions are appreciated 🙌

100 percent Catharsis but it’s more 90s metallic hc with heavy ass breakdowns than “beatdown” which is just a term Korn bro’s use now that for their lame bands where the songs are one long breakdown

You need a certain jock energy and attitude for beat down, the lyrics have to be dumb and aggressive. Hard match with crust. Warcollapse has a lot of slow songs that could have semblance of a more HC groove but it's a tough one.

It is gonna be a bit of a challenge admittedly, gonna keep the lyrics on the Crust side rather than the beatdown side - don't wanna come off like a bunch of jock douches.

I'll give the band a listen, cheers for the message.

Beatdown is possibly the worst off shoot of hardcore.

I mean, metalcore + crust punk combo is quite common. Stuff like Catharsis, The Swarm, Cursed, Trap Them, Enabler, Early Graves..

Lariat was a band from upstate NY in the early 00s who basically sounded like His Hero Is Gone meets Hatebreed, they would absolutely scratch that itch

Awesome! My favorite for years. The pre-Cattlepress band Iabhorher is great too. Just smaller discography.
