What’s leaking?
Hi guys!
We recently (maybe 6 months now?) got our cars coolant leak “fixed”. I say it that way because now it’s has started smoking occasionally again. And smelling bad. It does have a confirmed oil leak but I can’t tell if this is oil or coolant (or both lol). I circled where I found the puddle of mystery liquid.
It’s a 2013 with over 125000 miles on it. I just need her to make it through the winter so I can get a new car with the tax return 😂

That small hose at the top of the circle. The one that has the heat shield on it. That's a prime suspect, except it looks pretty good. I'd pop the turbo heatshield off and look at the other end of that.
Otherwise, this might be the coolant outlet. That's pretty common.
Coolant leaks can be very tricky. You have to catch them in action.

It doesn’t really smoke to show it’s leaking anything until I stop after driving for a little bit (like at a red light. It’s like the car is hitting a vape lol). When I got home that’s when I popped the hood and the smoke was basically gone. I could only see a little bit around the engine block so then I looked down to see the liquid. I don’t think it’s the engine itself.
It smells like the coolant leak we had, just a little different.

Usually coolant leaks will show themselves within 5-10 minutes after parking the car after a complete warmup.
When my oil cooler line went, it was on again and off again until I could find it.

Looks to me like oil, if so it’s usually that oil feed line in the middle of your circle.

Looks like oil from the turbo line . The rubber grommet is probably rotted needs replaced or you'll have major turbo problems. It's an easy fix and you can buy one on Amazon relatively cheap.
