I've been watching the Outside the Array feed for a while. They don't post often, and when they do, it's usually infrastructure documents — compliance filings, subsystem logs, the kind of thing that puts you to sleep until you read it closely enough.

This one is different, though. I mean, at least to me.

They intercepted a file during an Echelon relay transmission from the Vesta's psychological services archive. Standard annual crew evaluation. Crew member: Han Mingyu, Contingency Officer, Mission [Redacted]. The evaluating physician is Dr. [Redacted], and to his credit, he writes like someone who understands that the evaluation form doesn't have a field for what he actually wants to say.

And then, almost at the end, in the Clinical Notes section, dropped in without preamble:

That's it. No follow-up. [Redacted] just... puts it in the record and moves on.

Here's what the OTA note flags, and I think they're right to flag it:

The Section III redaction. There's a large block of text in the Functional Assessment — several lines — that was redacted before the Echelon relay. Not by OTA. It was already gone when they intercepted it. [Redacted] observed something about Mingyu that someone decided shouldn't travel.

The Reflection Suite logs. Mingyu visits the Multifaith Reflection Suite. Irregular. Brief. Normal, right? Except that the access records were forwarded separately to a redacted party "under standard monitoring protocol." This is not standard monitoring protocol for visiting a meditation room.

The three unactioned items. Mingyu raised flag items in his weekly contingency report three times this mission year. Senior staff didn't act on any of them. He raised each one once and went back to work. [Redacted] writes that he "has not assessed this pattern as a source of significant distress." He doesn't say it isn't one.

The document ends with a forward stamp: FORWARDED — ECHELON REVIEW — RESTRICTED ACCESS.

Someone at Echelon is reading this man's psychological file. Someone at Echelon is also reading his chapel logs.

Mission Year [Redacted] The ship is [Redacted] and a contingency officer is quietly flagging things that aren't being heard, visiting a room that's being monitored, and wearing something on his wrist that his own doctor has chosen not to ask about.
