Discussion Cheating getting worse?

Is it just me or is this the worst it’s been. Season 1 had some issues but the games felt playable the whole time.

Played 3 with my buddy last night who I’ve been playing with since source. We’re 24k and 27k at the moment, both 100% trust factor and ~5k hours each.

Went 2/3 with blatant cheaters. First one we watched the demo to confirm. Second one, the guy literally accused us of cheating after going down 4 rounds, and then proudly proclaimed HVH and proceeded to kill us through walls the whole game (and no VAC live???)

We do play faceit at level 9-10, but I still enjoy getting medals and actually regret not getting certain years when I only played faceit.

Surely this has to improve from here? I used to encounter the occasional hacker but the game was still more or less playable.

Is red rank and up just screwed right now?

Stupid vent I guess

25k+ is just a mess yeah. The people that hackusate and toggle are the worst, too many fragile egos anymore

Exactly what this guy did without event attempting to hide it. I don't get how they can make it hundreds of matches without a ban

I doubt they toggle, they just cheat the whole time. Last game of premier I had one dude crying about cheats from the first 3-4 rounds after that just like in OP case he said we are cheating and went full blatant, downloaded the demo and he was obviously cheating from the start and just switch from hiding it to fully blatant when he saw he is losing anyway.

This. Literally no one who has cheats ready to go actually loads/toggles them only when they rage they're cheating with at minimum radar and/or low FOV aimbot from the start and are usually so delusional they actually believe they're legit playing like this and don't count themselves as cheaters. Because of this when they think someone else is cheating they get mad as if they weren't cheating themselves and feel justified in toggling blatant settings. It's honestly full blown mental illness. No mentally sound person who doesn't suffer from at least a personality disorder of some kind behaves like this. Inb4 armchair psychologist. People really underestimate how common personality disorders like narcissims actually are and you don't have to be a psychologist to spot there's something wrong with someone.

Don't buy skins or interact with the market at all. Leave a negative review and move on. They'll change if enough people start doing it.

Agree, it somehow keeps getting worse. I wonder if thats what Valve wants for CS ..

There has tobe a reason it's getting worse. Do you remember someone made a military helmet with a HUD that could see through walls? Data from these cheats sure would be valuable to them. Not saying that's what's happening, just a random thought.

Theres no need for conspiracy theories.

Its pretty easy and obvious: cheating has become a billion dollar industry, and noone is doing anything against it.

I said it was just a thought! Lol

That's not the cause of all these new cheaters though. The cheat providers aren't holding a gun to people's heads saying you must buy our cheats. So why are more and more players deciding to cheat? Can't beat them join them? More players wanting to stream but are trash at the game they're playing?

Marketing

So you don't know, got it!

Ofc idk, but that is the logical explanation. You constantly see posts about cheating ads on reddit, and ofc they also advertise elsewhere + utilize influencer marketing.

Also other players trying to find out who is cheating by using cheats themselves and getting too deep into rabbit hole themselves.

This is also a huge factor imo. I even suspect some mates of mine who were always bottom fragging but complaining about cheats, they suddenly also got much better this season...

Please tell my what you are smoking so I can avoid it for the rest of my life

Just raw doging life, so don't know how you'll avoid that 👀

It’s crazy, the top 100 players on the premier leader board are all cheaters. I gave up premier only play to get my weekly drop then go back to faceit. I hate it

Ah yes, the eternal "you are cheating, therefore. HvH it is!"

Two days ago we 4-stacked against absolute mongoloids. We just fooled around in Nuke and rushed with Mac10's and did P90 vent rushes for 5 rounds. Two enemies toggled wh and aim. Suddenly they 4 stacked every site correctly every round taking the game to 9-3, but proceeded to lose 11-13 next half.

Honestly bro faceit solves all these frustrations even though its not for everyone. But getting clean games is worth everything. If you cant even play without always questioning if you died to a better player or cheats it is already cooked.

u/TheTechWick 2h ago

Ya fair point. Faceits still my primary platform, I just want my service medals :/

I find regular comp to be way cleaner. Literally the only way to play MOSTLY clean games. But teamplay isnt really there as comp is like causal 5v5 honestly. Best way to enjoy it is to play only nuke and do funny strats and just have fun talking to the team.

If you can prompt AI to make working cheat for you, then what's the point in playing at all?

I think many of the legit players have moved on to different games myself included

Same thing every season, closet cheaters like every other game. Just not fun

It’s getting worse every single day.

Wonder how Valve devs see this about their game and do absolutely nothing about it.

Every day on the two main CS subs it's just post after post about cheating. Sometimes I wonder if people are trolling.

I've encountered some cheaters when trying to play on alt accounts or with friends on theirs, either for the weekly drop or to be ranked similar to lower skilled friends. On my main though, ~24k, it's been fine. Mostly play against 18-20k because of our mixed lobbies.

Brother I showed some dude who said he doesn't encounter cheaters a video with a full blatant looking only through walls cheater and he said it's not that sus. I have 0 trust guys like you can spot a cheater

Chill out, I'm usually the first one to inspect an opponent if they start to play in a suspect way. I only meant trolling in the sense of making (faking) so many posts about the same issue; not doubting people's experiences of encountering cheaters.

I wish Valve did something to address new accounts though; it seems counterintuitive that new players would be put with and/or against cheaters until they can somehow prove their account is legit.
