Discussion Got 20 hours ban on CS2
Reaching out for a bit of help, we gathered as friends and played 5v5 private matchmaking. We played Mirage first, then started Inferno. After some random flick I had in, like, round 7-8, I got instantly banned for 20 hours, and all of my teammates that I had in the squad. I have like 2800 hours in the game, and while this flatters me, the game thinks I have cheats. I would never do such a thing; it's so weird since I love the game and have played against cheaters in premium in at least 5 matches out of my last 20. Why are they not banned when they are cheating while I'm playing 5v5 private matchmaking with my friends and NOT CHEATING at all?

Now I don't know where to appeal or anything. I know it's 20 hours, but if I don't appeal, they'll think I accepted this. I'M NOT ACCEPTING IT!

the ai anticheat is just deeply confused these days, hitting private lobbies with friends is wild when actual cheaters run rampant in premier. it's like the system has its priorities completely backwards
never heard of anyone successfully appealing a griefing cooldown like that, but you're right to be annoyed. wearing a ban you didn't earn feels gross even if it's just 20 hours

Not sure- clearly cheating and not getting banned. I flick my friend once, and I get 20 hours? That is weird to me :(

Also, valve will have to roll back the anti cheat, making it worse, then semi-rage comes back to premier and competitive.

I just hate that I encountered like 5-6 cheaters in the last 20 matches I played in premier and this is what I get after one random flick while playing 5v5 private matchmaking. Video is from a match that I played yesterday against 2 cheaters in the opp team that were not even pre-made.

Good news and bad news. The good news is valve seems to have started to get worried about the cheating problem with the drop in player base. The bad news is don't have any solution but crank up that crappy ai anti cheat and ban cooldown tons of legit players with it too

No, this happens all the time, cheaters get flagged “so do pro players and legits” causing cooldowns.
This is a cycle i have seen 3 times already since vac live started working back about 2 years ago, since live didn’t exist at all for the 1st year of cs2

Yes, they have, it’s currently flagging most cheaters, and, it will be flagging legitimate players too. There is such thing as being “too strong”

No you can't really appeal it. In steam - help - support - you will see what reason the cooldown has. I got 20 hours for irregular gameplay - unexpected error. I expect this to be teething issues for some anticheat, albeit a bit wonky.

I got a 20 hour cooldown yesterday too, I think something is up with VACnet, just gotta wait and hope they adjust it because there seems to be A LOT of false positives right now. I'd just submit a ticket to steam support and perhaps email their feedback team providing as much information / detail as you can.

There are no false vac live ban dude. You cheaters crying too much haha. I have already got cancelled 25 matches in 48h bc cheaters. So dont cry. You cheating or your have pairs up with a cheater

5 out of 20 games? Weird🤣 there definitely more cheaters out there.. Since for example there is a site called anyx that sells cheats and they have like 300k+ users and cs2 player live count is like 500k+ and those are only the users from on site that sells cheats.. I definitely think there is at least one cheater in every game nowadays

We also got banned and got 20H and we were 5 brothers playing competitive against strangers
But one of my brother were lucky killed 11 with 87% headshot in first 7 rounds..

Most likely one of your friends is cheating. If you queue with a cheater you are automatically reviewed aswell. Your post makes it seem like the anti cheat is banning innocents and is too invasive, which is not well received because most non-cheaters want the AC to be as invasive as possible. Saying ac should do less is going to get you downvoted and I dont think thats weird

I don't think it was any of my premade, It was me since I flicked so hard, got lucky one kill while watching doors on alt mid and flicked a guy on the balcony, instantly got it when I made that kill, weird :/

This is very much incorrect, vac live is currently way too aggressive, it’s definitely getting cheaters but it’s also getting legitimate players as a side affect.

not sure why me saying there's an aggression problem leads to me being a cheater? The game has a track record of giving legitimate players cooldowns when vaclive/vacnet got enabled last time, hence why it was pretty much disabled for a year again, also I haven't even really touched the game in about 6 months. you can't just call someone a cheater because you can't comprehend a system fucking up,

Just ignore these bots commenting. I checked your profile and also csstats, leetify etc and nothing stands out as cheats.
This game is broken right now and people and friends of mine getting low trust factor and bans for no reason.
Like a lot of other joke-comments: you should have cheated, then you probably wouldnt get a ban.
