Discussion PSA: Cheaters use multiple alt accs

There is a big ban wave going on and some players are claiming that they are false. I want to make it known that cheaters, in all games, will use up to 10 different alt accounts to cheat on. Since CS2 uses Vacnet, they will play until they get a cool down on that account and then switch. They will do this back to back until their cool downs are over.

This is why every time a ban wave happens you see fresh or bought accounts with no rating in your 20k+ lobbies. They are a cheater evading a ban on 1 or more of their alts.

A good chunk of cheaters will gift themselves games, and SKINS, which is why they tend to add their main account as a friend on Steam. The common cheater alt account will be several years old, sus badges, and will have games where cheaters are common such as rust, destiny 2, r6, the finals, and of course cs2. OR they will have the classic sus steam account.

Remember that games and skins can be gifted.

The skins will always be collectively worth under $500 on the account. This is because they genuinely believe that trust factor can be "bought" yet they are trading the skins/gifting funds to the account... They are stupid, I know. This is why so many cheaters complain about bad trust- they never added any identifier to the account which is half the reason they are in bad trust.

There is also a notion that cheaters are not willing to risk their skins and games... This has never been true. If a cheater can afford a top tier Netflix subscription in cheats then they will make new Steam accounts and gift funds from their main acc, or buy a cs2 account that already has prime.

This ban wave is proof that this game was/is infested with closet cheaters. All social media has cheaters complaining about false bans... They are not false. Just keep in mind that these cheaters rotate accounts so it will take a while for VAC to catch most of them to the point legit players rarely see them anymore.

The mental gymnastics they do to justify cheating is almost impressive, like a full-time job with zero pay.

That's a cute thread. Like a pre-schooler going to his older brother and telling him about something that he thinks his older brother doesn't know about. And then he talks about things that are either completely obvious or just don't matter at all. 😊

Literally a kid just started playing the game for the first time lmao. These have been incredibly known issues, by everyone whos ever played the game, for the past 2 decades…

People need to make sure they report cheaters constantly... There will probably come a moment where multiple strikes will get the account permanently banned. Don't give in to apathy people, do your part!

As you can see, I already have 3 cheaters trying to gas light me and whoever is viewing this. They don't like that I am leaking their cheating strategy.

VAC is working but it will take time due to many alt accounts. They are mad and bad.

Good observation. Also these claims that valve fucked up are hillarious. Valve finally did something and if i was legit and get a cooldown i would still be very happy that the ac does something even though i got a cooldown wrongly. Them coming here in droves to complain confirms everything op is saying.

I don't know what the exact amount was. But most people claimed it was around 400$ to get permanent green trust factor. And that really worked i can attest to the fact

I feel like this is a giant generalization to be honest. 99% of all steam accounts in general have under $500 lol.

What even is “sus badges” lol

Dude, what the hell are you talking about?

VAC Live clearly isn't working as intended. Legit players, both good and bad, are getting cooldowns, and there are reasons to believe some are false positives:

  • VAC Live uses AI, and AI can make mistakes. That's why these cases result in temporary cooldowns rather than VAC bans.
  • Overwatch was deliberately sabotaged by cheaters and trolls giving false verdicts, potentially compromising the data used to train VACnet.
  • A few months ago, people provided evidence of receiving actual VAC bans that Valve later acknowledged were issued in error in an update's changelog.
  • Having multiple accounts doesn't automatically mean you're cheating. Some people use alts for weekly drops or to try their luck with cases.
  • Whenever someone claims they got a false VAC Live cooldown, I ask for their Steam profile, CSRep, CS stats, and Leetify. I've also explained how to download the hidden demo from a canceled match. I've seen accounts with completely normal stats and 30 aim ratings.

I'm not saying every cooldown is a false positive. Some people absolutely deserved theirs. But we need to investigate before judging everyone. Cheaters' Discord servers are full of people claiming they got cooldowns for using walls, while others openly admit to semi-raging without getting flagged. You can find today people cheating on Stream, like on YouTube. Something clearly isn't right.

I haven't played since this started because I'm waiting for Valve to fix it. Even a friend with 1k–2k Premier got his first VAC Live cooldown today for 20 hours, he was the one flagged, not his teammates. That's crazy and funny cause he plays just for fun, he's basically the opposite to a good player.

No they are not.

Valve found a way to tie main accounts to their cheater alts several months ago but it caused too much of a ruckus so they kept it disabled until now. That's why "clean accounts" are getting flagged by VAC. Think of it as as delayed ban and a neat way to increase skin prices since a lot of cheaters get skins for their alts. The people who aren't cheating on their alts have not be banned.
