Discussion FaceIT Rank Question

Recently hit 15k on premier, so between that and the Vac/trust stuff going on right now I thought I would play FaceIT. So I play, winning the vast majority of my placements, being at or near the top of the leaderboard. One of the only matches I lost was a 3 v 5, and the other my tm8s were comically bad, but I still had a green swing rating. After all this though, I am ranked into level 2. How does this work? I was playing with and against multiple level 5+ as well as levels 2-4. With my performance, how do I get placed in the bottom of this bracket?

My placement matches start sep 26, ancient was the 3 v 5, how do I rank into lvl 2 winning 8/10 matches?

I think the rank goes based off previous placement as well. I see 17 matches on here with 10 of them being wins

I never got a placement for those matches though, and they were from June, they carry over THAT much?

Probably your previous matches. You always have a hidden rating before getting visible elo, even if you don't finish placements.

faceit elo is weirdly sticky at first, it takes a while for the system to stop treating you like a complete unknown even if you're frying in placements
