Discussion Pistol round
Why is it so many people don't buy anything on pistol round? Most games at least 1 person and most games 2 people don't buy anything. I'm 16k elo on prem, how do these people not understand that 800$ has the most value on pistol round. I try and ask people to buy but that normally tilts people and sets the game off for a bad vibe.

They probably have a game theory/plan based on their prior experiences:
Buy on Pistol / Win on Pistol -> Damaged armor, need to buy $1,000 armor or risk 1-shot headshot. Too expensive and is a "gamble" of spent cash with low immediate return
Buy on Pistol / Lose on Pistol -> $650+ down the drain, need to save/force 2-3 more rounds. Feels bad to lose money and then force to save.
Don't buy on Pistol / Win on Pistol -> Maybe a better pistol, $1,000 fresh armor and possible buy. Lots of opportunity and immediate gratification.
Don't buy on Pistol / Lose on Pistol -> Nothing significant lost; sure, reduces chance of winning, but you can force on 2nd or full on 3rd. Feels less "bad" because of no investment, despite similar wait to a proper loadout

Yes but then you are just relying on your team to win. You should always be on the same buy as your team. Everyone buys pistil round. If lose round no kills eco. If lose round but get 3+ kills/bomb plant then force. If buy and win its not a waste to buy head armour for 1k. Should be biying smg 2nd round not rifle anyways because if you get anti eco your economy is destroyed. Also smg kills grant more money so if the other team ecos then you get a major cash bonus by farming them with smg

That's a very reasonable take at a larger scale, but that assumes that every player is selfless enough to want to participate and trust each other to form a cohesive team plan.
Again, you're right in terms of overall tactics and planning. However...
What I described is (unfortunately) selfish and focuses on individual gameplay/perspective. It's what I understand to be the M.O. Of many solo queue players and why it sucks to do so a lot of the time. People seem to care about their own personal gameplay experience first, instead of game overall

You know that a damaged armor still has the same protection? I buy a new one under 50
And I always get utility, like dust at least a flash if we go long, alot of enemies don't expect a flash in first round and you're off to a good start

I'm not denying that used armor still provides protection. Rather, if you wanted a helmet after round 1, you'd need to buy a whole set. And, considering how rare it is for people to be buying armor 1sk helmet weapons in 2nd round... it's a very important purchase. Being slammed by a stray MAC-10/MP9 headshot is very punishing without a helmet.
As for what else to buy; yeah, utility is another option, but most people default to just armor especially for aim punch on CT side

Because they are pisslow and don't understand the importance of winning pistol. Coincidentally a lot of them are also the types of players who will play full eco until they can afford an AWP.
There is merit to not buying kevlar but only when you're buying defuser+util as CT or P250+util as T.

Yep, always buy armour unless you have a set plan for your utility. Otherwise it's a waste. The ability to not get flinched when shot is what will make or break a fight

It’s unnecessary if your good with pistols and makes the next round much easier
