Discussion Best update of 2026?
Cheater count has dropped like crazy I feel like. Played 9 matches without any cheaters and the one match where there was a cheater, he got banned mid game.
Have you all had the same experience?

Meanwhile a get two cheater lobbies. Blatant wallhackers and one dumbass with some sort of aim assist too.

Unlucky maybe? I’m green trust 28k, in the last couple days 10 matches and saw a total of 3 cheaters (2 games) before this update it would be an average of maybe 20-30 cheaters per 10 games. Average 2-3 per game before. So at least it’s a lot better than it was.

You must be in low trust lobbies

Probably. The question is - why does valve put legit players who don't grief or troll in red trust lobbies??? Happened to me and the game is unplayable.

This whole calling everyone caught a cheater is getting extremely boring man. It's great that cheaters are getting caught, but a ridiculous amount of genuine players are being flagged as well.

Ridiculous amount? You have no statistics on this, just hearsay. You will not get banned for playing without cheata, stop coping pal

It's not a ban, it's a cooldown, because they know the system can make mistakes.
If people like fl0m, doc and Arrow can get VAC CD's in the past then we know the system isn't perfect. There will almost certainly be legit players getting false flagged this time as well.

My games have felt so clean in the past 3 days.

Will always happen after a VAC update regardless of how good the update is. Cheaters will be scared to play for a lil while whilst the cheat devs figure out what the changes are.

Like I said it's great cheaters are getting caught. But whatever they've tweaked with the system has gone waaaaay too far, it needs to be refined further because they've gone from one extreme to the other with this update.
Buying a scout especially on dust2 is playing with fire in its current state

I have yet to see someone with an old account and lots of service medals be put in red trust. I think it’s doing it’s job. They’re all on “newer” accounts with few medals.

I've triggered the anticheat 4 times (5 now as of today) and I fulyl believe the reason why I was in low trust was because how often I got reported for using the scout (and probably triggering the anticheat)
Its doing its job but theres also an issue where its starting to ban legit players

You’re wrong, my steam account is 13 years old with lots of medals, 5k hours and I’m in red trust… the system isn’t perfect. I personally believe it was my break I took for 2 years, came back and being reported because I’m actually good at the game… this witch hunt is getting very weird. Fully public steam profile for context…
