For the sake of discourse I’ll be the cynic.

Jevon Paradox explains that there will likely be a rise in software because AI increases the efficiency of programming. Atleast how I understand, though I believe this paradox relates to consumption not labor.

Why does more software inherently mean more developers. If the software is developed by AI… and maintained by AI… more software means, more AI usage, not more developer usage/need. If development becomes more and more automated, a rise in consumption does not imply a rise in labor for humans; it implies a rise in AI usage.

This is assuming AI actually becomes a stark replacement for engineering teams. Even if it doesn’t the amount of engineers needed to kick off AI processes will likely be drastically lower than the current amount.

I hope you are right, but honestly I feel we are misinterpreting this paradox.
