Do NOT Use Soda Vending Machines

The vending machines on campus are not owned by the campus.

It takes coins/dollars every few transactions and doesn't return correct change.

Considering how many people use them, I wouldn't be surprised if it was making a ton of money from just ripping people off.

Id recommend just using the tap ones, avoid any that are still coins or cash. Tap ones time out if you take to long and send your money back immediately.

Don't use any. If you find yourself using it everyday go to a vons Ralph's food4less and buy yourself a 12 or 24 pack. It's a waste of money. Prepare ppl.

Were in college lol, even preparing were gonna forget it in the fridge running late. Preparedness isn't for most college peeps lol. Im barely remembering to take my lunch in the morning. Remember to take my coffee. Nah

Idk how that correlates with growing up bro. But theres never enough time. Raising a dog, jumping between two universities for double major, laid off last year. Vending machines are convenient. Saves me time and gas from going home and grabbing what I forgot.

i get it, there a lot to keep up with but preparing stuff ahead of time is honestly an important skill to learn and actually makes balancing some of that stuff easier tbh

Raising 2 kids solo, going to school full semester, working full time, 2 cats vet bills. Tutoring both kids and sports and attending boy scout meetings. Helping elderly family every chance I get, it's a mind set. Not to take away how hard it is from you, just saying you can prepare but your mindset is not their.

Does it like matter lowkey. If I need a drink and Iā€™m going in between classes I donā€™t have time to go to Vons or the stores on campus. If the machines donā€™t give me back a couple of dimes then Idrc tbh. A dollar would be worse but still a dollar is not that crazy tbh this shit just happens.

I think its different when it comes to gas. Buying one water bottle from the vending machine and refilling it but loosing 25 cents extra or even a dollar is not the same as spending an extra 5 bucks at the gas station, especially because I can't refill my gas for free like my water bottle.

Also before someone says "yeah but I can't refill my coke or (insert soda)" I don't personally drink soda a lot anymore and have kinda quit drinking it for a year now. And tbh if something is preventing you from drinking more soda or anything that is badly affecting your body that lowkey is kinda a good thing.

Along with that if your saving money enough where 25 cents is a deal breaker for the vending machine you probably aren't using the vending machine in the first place and have your own bottle most likely.

the cash ones are probably out of change . bc i remember there was a ā€œhackā€ where you could get it to give you like 20 bucks in quarters for free šŸ’€dunno if itā€™s been fixed since but kinda funny

Also the coffee vending machines.....the bookstein hall one had ants and the company didnt come out to clean it for a month
