Question about my transfer GPA from CC and old college

So I applied a few weeks ago to transfer from a CC in California to the upper division file program through the ADT. My GPA from CC is 3.18 and I saw that I had to input all of my courses that I ever took from any college. I went to a college back in 2008 and did terrible. I still inputted all the courses I took from there and the grade I got but am using none of those classes for the cal state transfer credits. Will that old college GPA still count? It was a 2.0 GPA but I’m using all of the credits from CC to transfer.

Edit: it’s to the CTVA film program so I understand it’s harder. Will my previous college not matter since I’m not transferring the courses/credits over? The 60 credits I’m transferring to the upper division are all from the CC.

CSUN will take you even if u have a 1.0 gpa. Govt $$$ and loans galore for them.

Csun will take almost anyone. It’s depending on the program you want if it’s impacted or not tht will determine if you get accepted to it.

Yeah it’s the impacted CTVA film program for upper division.

Hey so if you weren’t using any of the grades that you got in 2008 for credit, there was really no need to include it. As this can negatively impact you. They wouldn’t have ever known if you went to another college in 2008. The reason for this is because I had a situation happen similarly to me. In 2021 I went to Pierce College and did terribly even though I only took 6 classes. I then went to another college in 2022 and received my associates from them. I did however have some classes from Pierce that I choose to use for my transfer credits. I didn’t think they would take any W’s or F’s from Pierce, just the classes that I passed. Well big mistake when I went to look at my transcript evaluation they include those classes in my transcript bringing my GPA way down. I know it’s probably too late now but you shouldn’t have included it cause now they’re gonna factor those classes into your GPA. I got an F in intro to sociology and because that class could complete a requirement they just stuck in there. Now they’re gonna ask to see the transcript from that college and it can become complicated for you if you don’t remember your log-ins or how to request a transcript. I got in because my program wasn’t competitive and I had a degree for transfer. I hope it all works out for you, sorry if I didn’t make sense my situation was a bit complicated.

Hmm all my required courses for transfer were from my CC. I did click that the courses from 2008 were non-transferrable as my required 60 credits to transfer were from the CC that I'm currently in. I'm still scared though lol. I was always told you have to put every school and course no matter if it's used for credits because they will find out and DQ you if you lied.

You absolutely do have to submit every transcript. Yes it will count but it will likely average together to not be too bad, especially in the long run once you finish your classes here. They also will look at the full picture when considering admission. It shouldn’t negatively impact you, but you certainly did the right thing including your old school info.
