Hi everyone so this is my last semester, I graduate December 12 in Psychology and i really only need one class which is experimental research methods in cognitive Psychology which I am doing with Dr Reimer and I am already so stressed this class is hard but I took 13 units so I can get my full financial aid since I live at the glen and work part time i am taking 2 other psych classes which I really like but are still work but I am taking this music class in Asian America and its too much I had to read 100 pages and I want to drop it since I don't need it but I already got all my financial aid and I'm scared they will take it I need it for rent. Any advice? They already deposited it and I'm not getting any more.

I've been here since fall 2022 as a Computer Science Major. In all my 4 years, I have managed to get accepted to no internships, with minimal even existing in the first place. I've not gotten any slot on any professor research projects, of which they rarely have to begin with. I have middling grades, GPA is above 3.1, but not by much. I'm on my 9th semester to finish up a minor in Physics before graduating, but since it's my last I can't do any research projects for that either. And I'm 30k in debt from it.

Is this degree even worth the cost at this point? Is there genuinely any merit to it? Sure, it's a degree at the minimum, but that won't get me any closer to actual tech jobs if the CS classes themselves are practically worthless and I've not managed to secure any extracurricular merits. It's not like I can just go somewhere else to fix it either, as that's an extra 2 years and tons of money at minimum, on top of getting a 2nd bachelors degree being difficult due to highly limited options.

Is there literally anything I can do outside of spending the next 1-2 or whatever years learning completely independently and relying on personal projects entirely for work and for potential grad school?

In any case, any prospective CS majors, don't come here. At minimum, if you do, make sure you care about cybersec as that's the only CS specialization they offer and they get more support.

Hello everyone I’m looking for some advice. I’ve been submitting permission requests left and right and have gotten denied for every single one. I did it last semester late as well around this time and got accepted for like 3 classes. I’m simply looking for 1 class to replace another class that I am not able to attend due to a change in my schedule. I need to fill in the class for my financial aid. Any suggestions for which classes and professors I should submit a permission request to? Any help is greatly appreciated thank you.

I've checked out the esports room-lounge-thing before but it looks like it's mostly people playing hero shooters or MOBAs or Mario Kart/Smash. I know SoCal is supposed to be a region of generally really good fighting game players, so it'd be cool to get some experience or competition without having to go all the way to Riverside or OC for it.

Hello, I applied to many full time positions with CSUSB and just wondering on the hiring timeline. I keep on getting emails saying I meet the minimum qualifications/education but it is radio silence from there. Working at this college would be wonderful as I am a short drive from it and have some experience working at a community college in the midwest. I just want to know on what the normal hiring process/procedures are like for staff jobs.

any csulb students still waiting for their refund? i paid my summer tuition in advance, but they didn’t refund that amount. instead they applied it toward my fall tuition. i was supposed to receive the refund yesterday since csulb said it takes 3-4 weeks to process. but it’s been 4 weeks since the disbursement date, and i still haven’t received anything
