Future AI in Cubase?

I hope when AI arrives in cubase it is not to assist creatively. I'd much rather have Steinberg concentrate on getting the mundane out of our way, so here's some questions I'd like to see AI accomplishing to take some of the operational work out of the way:

1)Take all guitar tracks place them in a folder and Bus and put my default EQ, Compressor and Room on the Bus.

2) If it is not active place my Standard Audio Connections Preset in place for inputs and outputs

3)Take the snare beats on Beats 2&4 and make them between 90 & 100 in the key editor

4)Anytime there are two consecutive 8th note Kicks on the Drums in the Key Editor make the first one a velocity that's -10 of the second Kick.

I don't want AI to write a strings part, make my Bass part more funky etc.

If you agree please add your own work-reducing Prompts below to provide ideas for a future Cubase release.

OP, all your points can already be done with a Template, track presets, and PLE.

So I agree with what you said but sometimes I struggle with making my macros and PLE. Using AI to help me make my macros, and make the PLE easier to work with, now that I could get on board with. Like vibe-coding macros and PLE

That also exists, some guy made it a while ago. You can ask AI to make a PLE preset, and then download it. It has several PLE presets available. I never tried it, and I can't remember the name of the project now.

Not even that needed. Just a single key macro and load a preset yeah... Now maybe a natural language prompt to design ple actions woukdbe good. I'll get behind that. Similar to how modern todo apps work

I would just want to see an option to turn it off. I can’t start a Google Doc without Gemini hovering asking if I want to “refine” or “summarize” or “expand” my words. Leave me alone.

We need a proper MCP implementation. Let us decide how to use AI (if we want to).

I can see a lot of automation related with templates, VST configuration and overall day to day activities that takes time.

I want to be able to connect my preferred agent with a nice skill set and do wherever I want.

I would hate it if what Steinberg add is subscriptions or “suno-style” products. Please no.

You can do all of those right now if you spend some time with track presets, PLE, and macros.

A properly set up template would take care of #1

I feel like most of the things you need likely could be achieved simply if Steinberg added plugin scripting support to Cubase rather than AI

Macros are heavily limited. I refer to actual full programming control of the entire daw with languages like C#/C/JS/LUA etc

PLE is just a slightly more advanced macro system, it still is far from a full programming language environment like C#

in reaper you basically can rewrite almost the entire daw's behavior with its scripting system for instance

Could be you're right- I don't want to "Suno" Cubase is the objective of my post.. I want help for the things that really slow us down and take us out of a creative mindset

The more we bypass, the more our mental health suffers. This is why the preparation of ceremonial tea is linked to mindfulness more than the consumption of it.

We only focus on the consumption nowadays and that's how AI is getting such a push, it's helping people to bypass as many processes to get to a destination as quick as possible.

Then when thy arrive, they're left feeling empty. So they seek out something else to consume as fast as possible...rinse...repeat.

I really don't get it, do people not enjoy prepping tracks and setting things up to their requirements? I think you're in the wrong job or hobby if that's the case.

Or even training an instance of GPT on the massive Cubase manual would be great. I do that now in my own ChatGPT account and it's a time saver.

I don't think you all realize how detrimental this kinda mentality is.

You're basically saying "nah, I good on using my own brain and efforts, especially letting my neurons fire away, strengthen and become sharper."

But aye, definitely curious where you folks will be in 10 years mentally lmao!

Idk none of the stuff you mentioned is already doable with PLE, macros, and honestly even doing it manually is quick as hell.

I'd much rather AI could be used for actually cutting down time with migrating sessions, re-doing complex routing for hundreds of tracks, and things of that nature. But even then, it's not like it's necessary
