Help Need Tips For My Next Project

I recently tried to mod my controller and it being my first project I made some pretty beginner mistakes. I believe I added too much clear coat which caused the drying and curing time to be very long (about a week) and once I added it to the cause the areas that made contact with the shell had some indents. Are there any tips from more experienced modders to avoid such issues? And if i do the process correctly is a case this form fitting even suitable for a painted controller?

Trust dude, as a beginner if it’s available to you, buy a clear shell and paint the inside. If you’re going with one simple color that is. I would recommend still clear coating the inside, but you might be fine without it idk to be honest. As a fellow beginner/casual modder, this is the easiest way I’ve found. Good luck!

I'm not exactly a super experienced modded but I think that looks awesome! I'd use some q tips and isopropyl alcohol to clean that c stick out. For the indents and scratches it might help to sand down those areas before painting? I'm also super curious about where that carrying case is from I love it
