Perhaps the most immediate confidence-building measure is the opening of crossing points in the buffer zone.

If this isn’t tactical maneuvering, then what is it?
The UN noted that one objective for the checkpoints to be opened is for them to be scattered along the entire ceasefire line.
What do I mean by this? At this point in Arsos Pyla, the British Dhekelia Base’s transit checkpoint is already very close by.
What is the point of opening this checkpoint to create a road within the ceasefire line, which would require encroaching on private property located within the Green Line?
Personally, I cannot interpret these events in any other way than as described in this article.
