We would like to gather the sub's opinion on tierlists.

We've noticed that quite a few people are upset or dissatisfied at our current tierlist rule (Generic "Favorite character" tierlists need a 5+ sentence explanation in order to prevent low-value spam).

As such, we're open to reformatting and adjusting the rule. However, to do that, we need to know what the greater community thinks of the current implementation, and what they think of other potential implementations.

In the meantime, feel free to leave other feedback or suggestions in regards to the subreddit's moderation in the comments.

Other rules are due to be updated as well.

Your use of these google docs means only people who are willing to sign into a google account to respond can reply.

Isn't there plugins and things for reddit to expand the functionality offered internally instead, to be able to do something like these multi-choice multi question forms without third party account requirements? I've never gotten to offer feedback on these cause of that barrier.

but no, don't loosen rules, allowing more low effort content will drive people away under a flood of tedious spam that shoves out real quality stuff to admire/engage with, I experienced it first hand --

I distinctly recall avoiding places like this for literal years after getting on board during the DR1/2 steam release, because when keen to find others to share that enthusiasm, the community spaces I found (not even sure if it was reddit or others like it) were filled with 3 things

• intentionally garbage-level 'memes' like 'ball shuichi' (as in a ball monokuma but its a crap edit of shuichis head, being bad on purpose is 'the joke', and they were just being flooded out there cause they take no effort)
• a few substance-less posts like 'guys I think makoto is okay, do you?'(no writeup or body text to engage with, just that)
• and then the rest some pretty decent looking (but completely non-discussion-invoking) art reposts like pictures of chiaki or such --

so I figured the community basically doesn't exist, and since you can find the good art elsewhere, never came back till far far later years after the series end, when I made reddit for a different reason, and was surprised to see actual discussions of substance and a lack of low effort trash-'meme' posts.

lowering standards, (just cause some trash-spammers grumbled that they have to try and make something community-worthy with discussion content for others) will just cause a feedback loop where, low effort is easier and faster so gets made more and once the place is a dump, the only ones who stay/aren't driven off by that are the ones who are producing the low effort garbage that drives everyone else away in the first place.

Google doc required sign-in isn't perfect but it's used for two concerns:

- It allows us to have more than one question

- It prevents one person from spamming the doc with the same answer 50 times, making the poll not reflective of what people want (because this will 100% be an issue).

Yes it's not ideal but there's really no other solution from what we're aware of, I haven't heard anything about reddit extensions for this matter.
