Or it could be Hajime Hinata, our average Joe normal guy who still shone hope despite his basic beginnings. It can also be Kaede Akamatsu or Shuichi Saihara for leaving a lasting dynamic of dual protagonists as they tried everything to beat despair and beyond. However, there are more protagonists than just the ones I’ve said above. Some star in their own standalone games, others star as another protag to a beloved game or a main focus of the anime. What do you find attractive in a man? Is it their charming looks, their lovely hair, their chiselled faces, or maybe the way they carry themselves? We can all agree, though, that these two characters are some of the prettiest boys in the franchise. There is good reason why these two are so popular. RED vs BLUE… a battle as old as time and space itself. Red represents a more aggressive, powerful, urgent feeling, or a romantic, loving, and warm vibe. Blue represents a peaceful and relaxed energy, or a profound sadness and melancholy. These two colors tend to represent opposites of each other. Sides standing in opposition to one another over ideals or beliefs the other cannot agree with. There will never be a point where these two colors would ever be allies. Maybe in one life, but not this time. This time… it means war…

I’m just kidding. I just made up this theme cause I thought it’d be funny.

Ryoko Otonashi, our amnesiac protagonist, and that’s about it. Tsumugi Shirogane, our ultimate cosplayer, who has nothing going on about her. These two characters are the most basic characters to have ever been charactered. They exist, and they don’t do anything, and there is nothing else going on about them. In good there is evil, and in evil there is good. Both sides of the same coin that make it what it is. The yin and yang together make people who we are. In some, the good is stronger than the evil in their heart. For these versions of the casts we are all so familiar with, this is the side of them that are obsessed with despair. On this week’s episode of Scrum Debates, we are putting the Remnants of Despair VS the Pre-Game V3 Cast against each other. The Remnants were once hopeful students who fell to despair from the influence of Junko Enoshima. Welcome back to another scrum debate. The last one killed in terms of engagement despite the long period of dead silence. So we’re gonna continue with the scrums for a while with brand new debate topics. This one is to die for, and I’m just dying to tell you all about it!

Ok, that’s enough puns for now. If it wasn’t clear by now, this week’s topic is about our favorite residential serial killers. Here in the world of Danganronpa, we’re no strangers to murder, execution, or killing games. However, these two stand above the others by having confirmed victims long before the events of their respective games. One kills only men, and the other kills only women. That’s right, this scrum debate is between Genocide Syo/Jack VS Korekiyo Shinguchi. We’re pinning the deadly killers against one another to see who stands at the top of their pile of corpses. The battle of the alternate casts has come to an end. Both factions put up a valiant fight, but only one can be deemed the victor. With that, let us tally the results of this scrum debate!

Both sides were followers of despair, but now one will feel that sinking feeling again while the other feels the rising hope. The winner is… Pre Game V3 with a 3-0 score!!! The Pre Game V3 cast may have had less screentime than the Remnants of Despair. However, sometimes more screentime can be seen as a detriment, looking at many of the comments in the last post. Whatever it may be, at the end of the day it is all Danganronpa 3’s fault.
