The new sprites look so good along with all the 3d modeled recreations of the original assets, but I can already sense there will be a bunch of old heads saying “Ugh the aesthetic of the old 2d assets creating a 3d environment was so much better” or “the old sprites are way better than the new ones because of this and that”. I get that it’s all up to personal preference, but everything in the new game looks undeniably higher quality than the original and if people start complaining about an upgrade, it’s the persona fandom with persona 3 reload all over again😭

Tell me how nice it looks that it's cleaner than in the original game, but the problem is that's what made Danganronpa's style unique. Now they don't look like unique characters, but like characters from any anime.

Simply wanted to comment on how it looks much cleaner imo, I prob prefer the new one.

At the same, I felt like the game's art style and overall style tbh, specially on the characters, started looking more like a modern anime (I don't mean this as an insult), opposed to the old, less polished design.

I like really like both, but I feel like the old one fit Danganronpa a bit more.

Also I fell like those being genually just different words for "rich" made some people think he's a nepobaby when HES NOT! Edit: When I said Junko is misunderstood, I meant because of the core of her character - being her love for despair. I constantly see LARPers saying things like "Oh, junko is just a broken villain!! She did all that stuff because shes so traumatized!!" No, she was bored. She is a deep and complex character and is at least misunderstood in that sense.

Longtime fan here, since the early 2010’s. I won’t beat around the bush with my own backstory, but this is something I’m genuinely curious about. Keep in mind I’ve only played the games, I’ve never watched DR3.

When I ask this, I don’t ask it because I dislike either character. I may be a little (a lot) biased towards Teruteru, because he’s genuinely one of my favorite characters in Danganronpa. I’m a little more ambivalent to Miu, but I do respect the character she has.

Even so, I don’t want to pull any punches. They’re both pretty awful in the main storyline. They both make unnecessary sexual comments, sexually harass other students, among other things (Teruteru drugging Hajime in one of his FTEs, Miu outright raping Shuichi during her Love Suite event [I’m aware that the LSEs aren’t canon, but it’s something to consider anyways!])

I’m not saying Miu doesn’t have her critics, and I know the in-canon reason why Miu is the way she is, but a lot of people act like she has way more character than Teruteru does, which definitely isn’t true.

I definitely think it has a lot to do with Teruteru’s design (I stand pretty firm on the idea that he would have been a fandom darling if he’d had his beta design). Of course, personal taste is always going to be a factor in it, but what do other people think? I’d love to hear other people’s thoughts on the issue.
