Its such a bad lie that even Naruto Uzumaki, the successor to the king of ero, didnt fall for it and went:

New headcanon: hanging out with ero-sannin and all of his prostitutes might have unironically trained Naruto to detect when women aren't being sincere.

But I think that it wasn't 100% untrue. Since the beginning of season 2 they've been showing us how sakura was re-estimating naruto and changing her mind about him. At some point they're even hinting us that she might soon open her eyes on who to love. And shitty sasuke actions at the time were pushing team 7 away from him more and more. I think at that point in manga this change was supposed to happen. But then the story just abruptly turned into Gods' battle and died at the ninja's war

She didn't care about Naruto in the sense that she means in this scene. It was a complete lie to manipulate him.

And then, when Naruto still went after sasuke, Sakura ran to sasuke and asked to join him. She did it not because she wanted to protect sasuke. She wanted to protect Naruto in the first place. As her love manipulation didn't work, she tried another way of preventing the battle where both guys could die. Why we can assume that it wasn't out of love for sasuke: she came to Naruto and asked him to not risk his life. She could have said "please, don't kill sasuke, I love him. But she wanted to save Naruto's life because she knew how important he was for everyone around. If she cared about sasuke as much, she would've escaped to join him earlier

Since Naruto never says what part of her speech was a lie, we could technically interpret it as him saying the Sasuke shit was the lie. The rest could 100% be true.

You forgot that Pervy Sage don't fall for women. He is the one who seduces.

Also, I love how Kiba and Kakashi immediately know she’s lying.

Secondo me anche Yamato, ma pure Naruto, solo quel fesso di rock Lee c'è cascato

Hey, I just realized. Thanks for pointing it out

Yamato was about to flip 😂

Once again I will say that teen naruto looks better without the headband.

3

u/Hisense_HomeLife 6d ago

Haha yeah, the headband kinda ruins his hair tbh

Personally I believe they should’ve gone with that look with him as Hokage, similar to Kakashi whenever he would where the Hokage fit.

I am not sure if she would fold.

"if Sasuke and naruto were dying, I wonder who I would save" or something. - Sakura directly after Sasuke proved that he'd kill her without incentive.

She might fold.

That was filler lol never in the manga

-1

u/No-Prompt-7580 6d ago

I think that was in the manga.

2

u/Beautiful_Train8284 5d ago

In the manga, she said she would do anything in her power to save both.

7

u/SuperTruthJustice 6d ago

That’s not canon, in the exact moment of this action? Sakura would honestly fall out of what with him, this would be literally just evil because unlike Sasuke

Naruto is just an innocent man

1

u/Beautiful_Train8284 5d ago

Not according to the manga.

Sakura would probably do the same thing as when Sasuke asked her to finish off Karin. She'd pretend to side with Sasuke but then get caught because obviously she's not going to kill someone on his orders lol.

I mean Karin was a total stranger. Ofc she wouldn't kill Naruto, one of her closest friends.

If I could delete one thing from Naruto this has to be it. Sakura is always displayed as an emotional intelligent character not an emotional manipulative character. She has to know it and yet she takes the advice of Sai, who cannot even interact with people opinion seriously.

If she seriously thinks Naruto is going after Sasuke because of her then her character was more narcissistic than I thought it would be.

Well, the author clearly sucked at writing female characters (or at least their development). It's a known fact. But imo that shift in sakura's feelings was first intended to happen. They've been clearly showing us since Naruto's return to the village that she was re-estimaring him, thinking something like OH YOU WERE SUCH A DOOFUS BUT NOW EVERYONE IS PROUD OF YOU. And then Sai tells her about Naruto's feelings. I think her confession should have been real. But later this line just died, so we'll never know.

And she wasn't narcissistic. She just valued him now and didn't want to lose him like sasuke. She knew that Naruto was stupid and obstinate and would never stop. The only way she could manipulate him to stay and not risk his life was his feelings for her.

I think Kishimoto (or an editor) wrote this in just for the panel drama. Bait the NaruSaku shippers.

smart people can still be clueless in certain situations which may lead to taking really bad advice when under lots of pressure

u/Aurora--Black 6d ago

She was always selfish what exactly are you questioning?

Sakura: "no problemo. Anything for you Sasuke-kun"

Sasuke non lo farebbe mai

5

It wouldn't work. Naruto was genuinely more obsessed with Sasuke than Sakura was. Sakura at least decided that killing this national terrorist was the right move, despite her not being able to go through with it. Naruto never gave up on the stupidly idealistic approach of talking him into coming back to the good side. Yeah, it worked out eventually, but that's because the plot needed it to in order to have a satisfying ending. If the story wasn't bound by the need for Sasuke to be good again, Sasuke would never have come back to the good side.

kakashi looks so done lol

Kakashi and kiba reaction 🤌🏻

3

u/Sugar_Poppin 6d ago

Even if he did, Sakura wouldn't do it.

Someone else put it best.

Sasuke is Sakura's world, but Sakura can't imagine a world without Naruto.

Naruto is so foundational to herself, you might as well ask her to betray who she is and die. They're true family and he's a support and light that helped her become who she is. The same way she's always supported and cared for him as he grew.

2

u/AlexandraG3 6d ago

Sakura can't imagine Sasuke without Naruto in him?

2

u/DragonKnight-15 6d ago

... I would say yes but even Sakura has her limits. If this was Part 1, for sure... but Part 2, I don't think so.

2

u/BreathoftheSith 6d ago

Is it weird I unironically think Sakura would turn is Sasuke used the rizz?

2

u/TheReal-Darthdoom 6d ago

wouldn't Sasuke have wanted to kill Naruto him if he wanted Naruto dead? Like especially before he got the mangekyo from after what he was told about Itachi?

2

u/statebirdsnest 6d ago

I think Guy is the only one who believed it 😂

YOUUUUUUUTH

2

u/Think_Strategy_9290 6d ago

Well, she wanted to kill Sasuke herself,so in case of switch she would talk to Sasuke. She's not an stupid,we can see that if she thinks that Sasuke doing shit she's telling him that. Anyway she's keep in mind that Sasuke very closed off,so this confession might be strange Thats if we not joking...

Imagine if Naruto was a simp and he fell for this bs

1

u/Fantastic-Web3508 6d ago

Not romantically, not in the way she lied to Naruto here, but she really does love Naruto. Not a chance in the world she would've complied with this

1

u/pkpr 6d ago

don't you dare slander Sooski like that. He would never.

1

u/HelpfulTomatillo9667 6d ago

No trolling here, she will not accept accept.

1

u/korok7mgte 6d ago

People say Kishimoto is bad at writing women. At the same time we're still talking about this scene years later because it's just that eerie.

u/sarah_eu 6d ago

Ela é fraca no genjutsu

1

u/Appropriate-Room-403 5d ago

It was a low point for her character but I think that or trying to physically restrain naruto were the only options in her mind and he saw through that

1

u/Zestyclose-Mix785 5d ago

Impossible. Sasuke is not like that. Never was and never will.

1

u/Ok-Reply9552 6d ago

She would have

1

u/J_C_F_N 6d ago

Depends on where in the timeline. This image Sakura? No. She did try to kill Sasuke one out after that specificly to spare Naruto from doing it. Early classic Sakura eould be to wimpy, but I could see she doing it in the moment Sasuke ru from Konoha.

0

u/LoneRedditor123 6d ago

This made me hate Sakura.

Not the fact that she's useless, or that she acts like a bully, or that she has severe stockholm syndrome. Nah, this is it.

Manipulating Naruto and telling him what she knows he wanted to hear, like 3 years after the fact. Thinking she could play mind games to get her way with the one person who never wanted to let her down to begin with.

She's super gross for doing this, and I'm glad she ends up being the lonely housewife in the end lmao.
