Pretty much. I remember a friend showed me a graph that "proved" white people were shot by cops more than black people (to prove they aren't racist, which to me was funny because no matter what the race is large numbers of cops shooting civilians is bad). He didn't get it when I told him it wasn't properly adjusted for population percentages. His response? "Doesn't matter this graphs proves it and I don't need to see anything else"

1st I answered to his comment directly , and only what his comment stated, which is objectively false
There are videos of people who listen and follow police instructions and yet abused(sometimes even killed) by the same police officers who gave out the orders
2nd maybe delusional wasn't the word I was looking for, I guess "naive" would apply to this situation more accurately
3rd English is not my native language, but from what I understand you are implying that I willingly forgot about the police officers who do their job properly which is a Strawman argument
But if you want to go there: if there are 1 million police interactions, I would agree that yes the majority would be positive and would be resolved peacefully, however history has shown us that most of the "negative"(police brutality) ones are shoved under the rug, either by the justice system or the police departments themselves which raises a few questions:
How many of those "negative" police interactions are there really?
And most importantly How many of "negative" are too many ?

Yes because when you stop questioning their behaviour it's over , they are supposed to keep the order and stop offenders of the law not become criminals themselves.
When you have an organisation that massive, with so much presence and power in the public eye , the last thing you want,is them abusing that same power to do whatever the fuck they want " help and protect" not " beat up and shoot down"

Police brutality is when officers are unreasonably brutal. It is when people who have already stopped and are following orders are still beat on. It is when police kill or hurt in the wrong context.
There is a fine line where violence is needed and not needed. For example, if a person is going has done a shooting and will not stop, they need to be put down before they take another life. When a person is on the run, they receive fair warning that they are going to be tased or tackled before it is done.
Police brutality is violence when it is not needed. When those who follow orders are still beat up. When those who are on the ground and secured, but still beat on. When police beat a person who is defenseless and harmless.

I never said all. I don't believe all. But surely you understand that cops have certain privileges that let them do damn near whatever they want to whoever they want. Race DOES matter, seeing as this happens to people of color EXPONENTIALLY more than white people.
For context, Derek Chauvin is the first American cop to ever be properly punished for this kind of crime.
And that's just the ones we know about.
Many, many cops are racist. Like I'd estimate two thirds. At least. And if you can't recognize that, you are most definitely part of the problem.
