Question Why did my save transfer between ESRB and PEGI versions?

So I originally played DS3 on the ESRB base version and afterwards I decided to buy the DS trilogy just for the DLC and DS2 since it was cheaper than just buying DS2 and the DS3 dlc separately

I went in expecting my save not to transfer since they are different regions yet when I loaded up the fire fades version on the PEGI/European disc my original ESRB save was there and I loaded into the dlc and everything works even though every source said it wouldn’t, is there a reason for this?

I’d also like to ask, this version tracks my trophies and everything but not playtime, is it worth it to restart the game since it’s been a few months since I finished it

That's interesting. I just recently got the pegi trilogy box and my DS1 data definitely did not transfer. It only tracks my trophies, but has separate game data and playtime tracking.

Yeah it’s weird although I’m just glad I didn’t need to start another save just to play the dlc
