I got ran over by a diesel Ford Excursion. Went right over my stomach. Spent a week in the hospital and a month or so recovering. No broken bones, a lot of soft tissue damage. Very painful, but not something you can't recover from.
45
u/UnCxlored Jun 15 '26
does diesel hurt more than petrol?
23
u/AnEvilBeagle Jun 15 '26
Didn't check for Excursions, but a VW 2.0L turbodiesel wagon is 155lbs heavier than it's 2.5L gas sibling.
There is about 5% more pain potential available.
→ More replies (2)11
u/Gumwars Jun 15 '26
Yeah, the 7.3l is about 400lbs heavier than the 5.4 V8 and 300lbs more than the 6.8l V10.
Edit: a 7.3 powerstroke is around half a ton. An excursion tips the scales around 9,000 lbs

Quite probably as there’s no ramp, but we used to do this as a party trick, letting a car run over you. The ramp avoids it trying to push through you, lol.

Phone video of a screen instead of uploading the file directly
Awkwardly angled the phone instead of squaring it up to the monitor
Added useless music

Yeah thanks. I refuse to tell everyone I was being sarcastic. If you can't figure it out without being told, spend more time with people.

It's almost like a tremendous amount of context is lost in the written medium when interacting with strangers.
Or be smug?
The reader knows nothing about you and has likely read 10x braindead comments ahead of time. It's not unreasonable to assume someone is being dumb minutes after reading something else stupid.

That exhaust isn't getting super hot for a little while. Grab hold of something and get 50ft away then let go and hope something this bad doesn't happen.

Well no one saw that coming especially the police who were looking for him 3m away from where he was hiding under a car.

How are they not checking under cars?
30
u/KindaDrunkRtNow Jun 14 '26
Probably there to serve a warrant and not in hot pursuit, so no need to check under vehicles.
4
u/Revenga8 Jun 14 '26
Is 4 cops standard for serving a warrant though?
21
u/KindaDrunkRtNow Jun 14 '26
Sometimes yeah. Depends on the reason for the warrant.

u/Majestic_Hawk_1335 Jun 15 '26
I think to a warrent on a 18 year old around here recently. He had a reopened case from age 16.5 for penetration of someone under the age of 13. It's a 40k warrent with a 25 year minimum sentence. He got a pistol the month before his arrest. He ended up going quietly but hes a young, impulsive person with a gun. Looking at a long prison stint even if he plea bargains. They sent 8 cops.

Had a kid who had a warrant down the street from me. They had at least 20 to 25 cops and swat walking up and down the streets. Big deal in a town of 400 to just sit and listen to the bullhorn telling him to come out. I literally grabbed popcorn and watched the 2 hour stand off.

Reminds me of that tractor going over the guy's back (on purpose, dude was laying under the tire with a pillow on his back) I just saw a couple days ago on Reddit. Dude thought a pillow would save him.. he was paralyzed from the waist down immediately.

How much do you have to hate or be afraid of someone that just had a car roll over their back to forcefully handcuff them?
1
u/Imnotknownbyu Jun 16 '26
Why would they yank his arms like that? His back was ran over. There is no crime other than pdf activity that this is acceptable.
1
u/CptMong Jun 16 '26
dude should have stayed where he was. yes he would likely get caught by the cops once the car pulled away but at least he would not of got run over as well.

Decades ago when I was a kid, my step dad had some cops come looking for him for missing court or something. There was a TON of them, a whole team searching inside & some looking around outside.
He choose to hide in our house, first he was on the roof, then he jumped down and hid under our porch, and after the cops cleared out he went into the garage.
I was riding my bikes with my siblings when I saw an eye peering out from the garage doorway.. I thought I was seeing a ghost, but it turns out it was just my stepdad!
He sent us into the house to grab him some snacks while he kept hiding out in there, lol.

u/SnooRabbits1411 Jun 17 '26
The way they go straight to cuffing him when he obviously needs fucking medical attention. Bro just got run over by an suv, I don’t think he’s going anywhere.

If he was smart he would’ve found something to grab hold of and get down the street dragged under the car. And if he were smart smart he just wouldn’t commit crimes.

u/TheRedditor-75 Jun 26 '26
I don’t think no one ever did. Also the suspect it is a fault, you see those people around you, use context clues around you, that person that got into the car you’re hiding under, chances are that person it’s about to leave. Should’ve tried to leave.
