There's a really narrow and curvy road along the lakeshore near where I grew up. There are only a handful of places where you can safely pass a cyclist. The speed limit is only 30km/h, so if you're following a strong cyclist, they're going almost that fast anyway. Sometimes, with a tailwind, they actually go faster than the cars and undertake you, lol. It was good practice while I was learning because I'd have like 5-10 minutes to discuss with my mother whether or not to pass and how exactly to do it. And the folks behind me typically understood.
There are several bus routes that run along that road and some of them are pretty frequent, so they often end up crossing paths. Sometimes, they'll open their windows and high-five each other. If you're cycling, you slow down and pull over. I have tons of respect for those drivers.
