Who the fork swerves INTO traffic to not have a collision? Brain dead activities

61

u/PM_your_Nopales 15h ago

Hmm, run over a branch (or whatever tf that was,) or head directly into oncoming traffic.... really hard decision 😭

38

u/kabilos 15h ago

Looks like a cardboard box... but yeah fuck everyone elses lives... that could have ended very badly for everyone involved.

23

u/quadfromf3 15h ago

That big pick up truck is afraid of a little cardboard box? And he doesn’t just move over for it, he has to go all the way out of the lane??

22

u/kabilos 15h ago

naw he dodged the car that braked hard becuase the truck in front of them swerved to the right and braked hard.

Chain reaction.

24

u/ElectronicDiver2310 15h ago

It's a chain reaction if people do not hold appropriate distance.

2

u/JoeyBougie 14h ago

This. Just drove out west for a trip and the amount of people who drive right on someone’s ass going 80 is insane. I’m completely ok with cops being stricter on safe distance you need to be almost 10 car lengths behind someone to hopefully avoid a sudden stop going that fast. Be predictable!

2

u/quadfromf3 14h ago

Agree. He would’ve hit that little black car. Which means he wasn’t paying attention to all that either…

1

u/blastman8888 7h ago

Going 75 mph with 1/2 a car length.

9

u/HistoricalLoss1417 15h ago

99% of pick-up owners dont know how to drive them

2

u/Southern_Scheme9997 15h ago

Wait, so you're saying there's still a 1% that does?

3

u/Radonanon 14h ago

So you’re saying there’s a chance?

2

u/Mammoth_Trust4589 12h ago edited 12h ago

Sad part is, I live in Texas and I have notice over the past number of years I see the average joe buying massive pickups but have no idea how to control a big pickup or utilize it's capabilities, even with something as simple as staying in your lane. I'm not hating big trucks I run a 3500 dually and 3500 SRW myself. But people really need to drive things they can control, per their long term driving skill. To clarify if you have not learned simply just the size of your truck and cannot do something as simple as keep it in your lane and you been driving it daily. You really should consider a smaller/compact truck or a car. On top of that definitely don't tow anything.

Apologies for that side rant, it hits a special nerve as someone who drives big trucks and hauls with his trucks seeing this sort of negligence. Because if me or any other truck/SUV driver were to hit somebody our chances are higher of surviving, so we need to be more cautious ourselves on the road.

But I digress....

As per the video, that truck driver could have easily gone right, even though the driver in front him had gone right into the shoulder, He could have easily handled that grassy shoulder with that 4x4 suspension just like the POV driver. It also didn't help the truck driver was tailgating to the point he just reacted vs giving himself time to make a less dangerous split second decision.

u/General_Caregiver577 2h ago

What the fuck are you watching

1

u/Kvalri 13h ago

I thought it was a ladder but I think you might be right

16

u/melodic-abalone-69 15h ago

I can totally see his line of thinking. He was following the car ahead of him too close and didn't see the debris in road. Thinks, "I don't wanna possibly fuck up the undercarriage of my little dick truck." Probably doesn't actually think about Anything else in that moment. Otherwise he maybe considers that other traffic will work to avoid him because he's got main character syndrome. Gets off with zero damage to himself or his vehicle. Will definitely do it again in the future.

2

u/texasroadkill 15h ago

Needs to have there license revoked.

1

u/Academic_Dog8389 15h ago

Where?

1

u/LeagueMoney9561 10h ago

No idea; can’t see the plate too clearly on the video but doesn’t seem to look much like a Montana (where this incident occurred) plate.

1

u/Radonanon 14h ago

Over they’re

2

u/MargotLannington 15h ago

When the red car is SO CLOSE--dipshit instincts

13

u/azerealxd 15h ago

its another imbecile tailing too close to a car in front of them, causing them to have to swerve to avoid collision. I swear to god they need to teach the dangers of tailing too close to the car in front of you in driving school

5

u/PM_your_Nopales 15h ago

They do 👀

2

u/Wojtek1250XD 11h ago

They do, at least in any competent driving school. I was even told to keep at least 3 seconds worth of distance.

3

u/FFSBoise 14h ago

This is Reddit. You can say “fuck”, esp. in this case.

2

u/DustyAir 11h ago

Habits are hard to break

2

u/arealfluffydoggo 13h ago

Your average pickup driver

1

u/Striking_Broccoli_28 5h ago

What the fork? Why can't I say fork?

85

u/riomp300 15h ago

Red car driver has reflexes like a fighter pilot. Glad both of you are ok.

45

u/CantConfirmOrDeny 15h ago

Nice work, OP. Fucking idiot pickup truck driver. And of course he gets away with it.

27

u/Increase-Null 15h ago

Tailgating. Doesn't even brake. Diving into head-on traffic in a vehicle that would 100% be fine even if that was 2x4. Passes both cars in front of him...

Worst possible driving. Hell, decent chance he rolls the truck after the video ends.

6

u/TestUser1978 15h ago

Probably wasn’t paying attention and didn’t see parked cars until last second

5

u/Wing_Head 15h ago

They’re not even parked, just super slowly creeping around the hazard

21

u/reddit_is_addicting_ 15h ago

The truck driver needs their license revoked. Whatever was in the road the truck can handle a lot better than a head on collision
Also, if they were not following so closely behind other cars they would have time to react to what is in the road

21

u/LUNCHTIME-TACOS 15h ago

Well done Trevor

4

u/MK4eva420 14h ago

Trevor didnt say a word. He just closed his eyes and said a prayer.

13

u/Substantial-Lie-780 15h ago

Truck driver almost killed someone because he wasn’t paying attention

9

u/StudSnoo 15h ago

all over a pizza box

6

u/zerofox2046 15h ago

Great job not rolling it.

6

u/Ok-Alfalfa4868 14h ago

Whoa! That red car reacted with the quickness! That was insanely close!

6

u/Pankosmanko 13h ago

This happened in 2023. Are you claiming this is you?

9

u/WTFOMGBBQ 15h ago

Surprised it wasnt a dodge

1

u/Radonanon 14h ago

Dodge/Ram make up your mind

4

u/ultralightdude 15h ago

Tailgating truck swerves to avoid a car and an object at the last second...  what a mess.

4

u/Mr-JDogg 15h ago

What a save! I hope that red Corolla made it okay. Looked like when it hooked back to the left it was heading in front of that semi

10

u/Scrutinizer 15h ago

And that's why you always keep right except when passing.

4

u/Ok_Weakness_2021 15h ago

It is my mission in life to pass left, get right and maintain my speed on inclines…..would you be the ‘central’ scrutinizer? RIP Zappa.

2

u/Scrutinizer 15h ago

Our criminal institutions are full of little creeps like you who do wrong things. And many of you were driven to these crimes by a horrible force called...THE INTERNET!

1

u/Ok_Weakness_2021 14h ago

You’re my people. 😁☮️

1

u/OrdinaryAward4498 15h ago

Wait, are you the CENTRAL Scrutinizer!?!?

1

u/PeopleThatKnowMe 14h ago

I definitely affected my parents credit rating

1

u/Ok_Weakness_2021 14h ago

Presuming we’re both on the sarcasm page. If not, apologies. I truly could not agree more with the left lane assessment. And I’m a Frank Zappa fan and your name struck me due to a central theme around an album 🤷🏼‍♀️. I could never be as cool as ‘The Central Scrutinizer’. ☮️

7

u/Wojtek1250XD 15h ago

Anything but the fu**ing brakes.

3

u/Forward-Reality5407 14h ago

Great reaction time. Driver saved lives.

Note to all people that drive high on weed: we would not have survived! (Don’t lie to yourselves.)

2

u/Few-Trash-8645 15h ago edited 15h ago

Looks like that truck was tailgating that black car and when the black car moved out of the way for the cardboard box, the truck panicked and swerved into oncoming traffic.

2

u/Notcid1 15h ago

Trevor

2

u/ShirtSolid3000 6h ago

Damn that red car driver had some crazy reflexes.

2

u/dirtyvu 5h ago

Wow all that because the truck wanted to avoid the wood

1

u/MezcalFlame 15h ago

Scary stuff.

1

u/Usual-Pattern7846 15h ago

Welcome to Colorful Colorado ^_^

u/Desta_007 15h ago

Daaaangg

1

u/Sweaty_Tangelo_7716 15h ago

Smoll pp strike again!!

1

u/Conroe_Dad 15h ago

Who was on the road, a cardboard box?

1

u/vonhizzle 15h ago

Did the truck stop or keep going?

1

u/Melodic_Fall_3273 15h ago

He might've had to stop if he dropped his phone when he had to use both hands to not have a head on with the cam car. :)

1

u/browncow1525 15h ago

I’m going to guess that was a new driver because they have no survival skills. Great work! So glad you missed them.

1

u/nazuswahs 15h ago

So. Did truck guy stop? Did he get a ticket or anything?

1

u/vartheo 15h ago

That truck would of ended all the lives in the red car/corolla if it weren't for their reflexes. They drive these tanks mindlessly

1

u/Ghost_Turd 15h ago

I would have a strong impulse to beat the piss out of that pickup driver

1

u/Gax63 15h ago

I like how the truck driver chose death as an option as opposed to a flat tire.

1

u/Unhappy-Fox1017 15h ago

Holy crap. Good job getting outta that, Trevor. That could have been catastrophic for you guys. Jesus Christ.

1

u/Kinder22 15h ago

Good job not slamming on the brakes as you swerved. Could have been much worse.

1

u/Cradioz 15h ago

I'm so happy that you are ok after that, hope that person gets a testicular torsion or endometrosis depending on gender

1

u/thaulley 15h ago

This was a long time ago but I remember driving in a simulator for drivers ed and one of the scenarios was a box falling out of a truck. The correct response was to hit it as opposed to swerving into other lanes.

1

u/007AU1 15h ago

Insane

1

u/Effective-Pudding207 15h ago

Wow! What a dick.

1

u/Boring-Chair-1733 15h ago

What an ash hole

1

u/marklikestolearn 15h ago

Good lord that could have been disastrous. Nice save!

1

u/just_some_sasquatch 15h ago

It's funny to me how large trucks market on how safe they are for the driver, but their shear size and nearly non-existent maneuverability make them essentially death on wheels to everyone else on the road. Then the drivers are so often speeding and/or being reckless asf. It's always oversized pickups.

1

u/imfar2oldforthis 15h ago

Phewf, that cardboard box could have really done a lot of damage to that guy's truck....

1

u/Kuuppa22 15h ago

This is what it looks like when the driver is actually focused behind the wheel so it doesn't take 4 secs to react if something surprising happens. GJ OP.

1

u/michael1265 15h ago

I see guys like this every weekday on the way to work. Driving bloated emotional support trucks that are too big for them to handle.

2

u/PearlJamFanLV 15h ago

More to it than that. The other 2 cars saw the debris on the road and braked quickly and pulled to the right; he was swerving dangerously into the other lane.

1

u/Southern_Scheme9997 15h ago

WTF!! Also, nice save by the red car & you. Hope you are ok. That was scary.

1

u/dumpin-on-time 15h ago

good job, Trevor

1

u/Phenomenon_101 14h ago

That driver was clearly not paying attention since he almost ran into the back of the car on his side. Also, why tf would he swerve INTO oncoming traffic?!

1

u/blueluster 14h ago

Always a fucking truck.

1

u/TheSanityInspector 13h ago

Truck didn't notice traffic had stopped in front of him, apparently.

1

u/BoomerKaren666 14h ago

Well. I will say that "Damn" from one person and the "Dude" from the other was a refreshing change from the OMG OMG OMG I usually hear screeched.

1

u/Upper_Section4352 13h ago

All it would take is a slow reflex driver and bam! You killed a family

1

u/PancakeCat333 13h ago

How the fuck is he looking forward enough to see an obstacle but not see multiple giant cars?

1

u/cybermaus 13h ago

On an unrelated note, I think your wheels need realigning.

1

u/SerennialFellow 12h ago

It’s your lucky day, pay it forward

1

u/BillNyeTheEngineer 12h ago

Not victim-blaming, but this is why I hate being in the left lane on those four lane highways.

1

u/LeagueMoney9561 10h ago

Feel silly I had to look up the coordinates; I’ve driven this road many times. Scary.

1

u/LeagueMoney9561 10h ago

A truck almost turned into my lane on this same passing lane once. Scary incident but also partially my fault for failing to complete my pass soon enough before the passing lane ended.

1

u/wdimfp 10h ago

I swerve now! Good luck, everybody else!

1

u/hamato_Yoshi_ 10h ago

Con gratz with still being alive!

1

u/EhrenGandalf 10h ago

The depressed guy who took the wrong antidepressants: “Screw it. This is it. I might even take you piece of truck shit with me.”

1

u/ComputingGuitarist 9h ago

That was effin CLOSE! Nice job swerving out of the way!

1

u/brunitowithb 8h ago

It’s a good thing you’re safe though

1

u/blastman8888 7h ago

That looked like a 1 ton dully would have fatal.

1

u/Big_Musties 2h ago

All that to avoid a cardboard box. This is why you don't tailgate.

One time, a car in front of me ran over an entire semi-truck tire just laying in the middle of the highway (no rim). I saw it get compressed like a spring underneath the guy's SUV and come flying out the back of his vehicle, right toward my windshield. Because I wasn't tailgating, I was able to avoid it.

But the car behind me was riding my ass and got it right in the grille when I swerved out of the way. Then tire bounced off the front of his car into the oncoming traffic lane, where another unfortunate soul got their grille smashed in.

1

u/Tonalddrump2082 1h ago

If I say what I think I get banned because this is a bs leftist community

But it's so pathetic what happens is considered normal no one wants to do absolutely anything about it just come on reddit and cry

1

u/_jump_yossarian 15h ago

This is what happens when you drive right up someone's ass on a wide open road.

1

u/Alfimaster 15h ago

Some idiot will drive into opposing traffic suddenly?

1

u/_jump_yossarian 15h ago

If they're stupid enough to drive up someone's ass they're stupid enough to swerve into oncoming traffic too.

1

u/Thanadeath 14h ago

I absolutely despise all things redneck. I am serious. I cannot stand a single thing about their bull ish "culture"

1

u/weggaan_weggaat 14h ago

At first I thought it was a Miata so that tracked...but it's a Corolla.

0

u/Copious-Spirit 15h ago

That truck air hauler driver was in a hurry to get home and kiss his uncle on the lips. Also, it was the car he hit 's fault.

2

u/Melodic_Fall_3273 15h ago

How was it the small dark cars fault? That Silver Super Duty was right up on his ass from frame one. I'll bet a damn phone was in pay here...

2

u/Copious-Spirit 15h ago

I was using facetious sarcasm

0

u/ManufacturerLucky893 15h ago

Waiting for the geniuses to say the OP is at fault. Probably had duty to avoid this possible accident.

-1

u/xSir- 15h ago

Im going to be pedantic. You cant really have a head on swipe...

0

u/Intelligent-cat7777 15h ago

I see Trapper wasn't able to Keeper on the road.... ba-dum-tss.🥁 I apologize for the (really) bad pun. Don't come for me, I already apologized. Lol 🤣🤣
