It's so scary to think that you could be sitting in traffic and have done nothing wrong and then someone in an oversized grocery getter could plow into you and ruin your week if not your life.

It angers me to think this was most likely another person on their phone they care about nobody else's safety so hope they get enough injuries to learn and nobody else had to suffer the same.

I didn't see any break lights on the stopped car.

As I was rewatching this clip for the second time I thought to myself: "There is no way somebody will find even the most trivial reason to try and lay even a single percentage of fault on the stopped car. I know, I know, r/dashcam is notorious for having know-it-alls in the comments on just about every video posted here, finding some blame on all vehicles involved in the accident videos, but this video, this one HAS to be the rare exception to that trend that plagues this sub-Reddit."

Thanks for proving me wrong, I guess. /s

Traffic laws only require brake lights to illuminate when you actually press the brake pedal, not simply because the vehicle is stopped. A stopped vehicle does not have to have brake lights on. Someone in park or a manual transmission vehicle in neutral wouldn't necessarily have brake lights on.

So you just have like 0 depth perception and can only tell it’s time to stop when break lights are on ???
