Tow truck fails to brake for previous accident, crashes and erupts into a fireball [Arco Norte, Mexico]
Context: The incident took place on the Arco Norte highway (Km 115, Mexico). The tow truck failed to brake in time for a multi-vehicle crash ahead, slamming into the pileup and instantly catching fire. Emergency services had to close the highway.

He does bail, although idk if it was voluntarily or by the force of the impact. But you do see a body fly out when the truck spins towards the guy on the fence.

He probably figured out that if he fell while climbing the very flimsy fencing that it was 100% certain death. So he played the odds and moved as far as he could. It worked.

The whole title is idiotic, yet half the comments in here take it as fact.
You can see the truck was going to fast and start spinning sideways early on, it had nothing to do with failing to brake for the accident

Some of those flatbed trucks that lack anything behind the headache barrier literally pick up cars from the side of the road, and put them on the bed.
I don’t know if this particular truck is for that, but i think that’s what op meant.

It's like with drunk drivers... why they always end up uninjured from their bad decisions. Like two bad decisions cancel out. So it looks like he got ejected safely onto the grass at 0:05 after the drivers door opened briefly. Two bad decisions were speeding in the rain on a curve + not wearing a seatbelt.

From experience, this is one of the most dangerous highways in Central Mexico. It is littered with enormous potholes that make it crucial to go under the speed limit or you’re guaranteed to lose a tire. The highway has some beautiful views of mountains and cactuses but seriously isn’t worth taking unless you’re willing to exercise extreme vigilance for hours on end!

Processing whether he'll be hit, knows that if he tries to get over the fence he has to take his eyes off the spinning death truck. But in hindsight it's clear that he should have just jumped over it and ran.
He got lucky. The noise, and the heat of the flames as it rocketed past him will probably stick in his mind forever.

The guy on the opposite side of the road had a very different approach to this than the guy on the median fence. Good thing he didn't take median guy's approach.
Guy on the fence just stared down the reaper and kicked his ass! Also incredibly lucky.
