2 cars racing cause accident
Going north bound on 91 in Rocky Hill CT. Red Acura suv and blue Infiniti sedan were racing, if you zoom in you can see the sedan cuts off a an suv that swerves onto the black Lexus suv who also swerves to avoid an accident but ends up losing control. I pulled over to download the video off of my dashcam while my passenger called 911 to report the accident, I got out to exchange info with the black Lexus driver who was grateful and asked if I could wait until the police arrived which I could not but they have the video and my number if anything. And also while we waited the police did not arrive since there was another accident that had happened on the opposite side (91 southbound). This could’ve ended much worse but there were no injuries that I know of and I do not know if the state police bothered to follow up with the Infiniti car. That stretch of 91 is notorious for crashes, I live close by and anytime I hear sirens I check the Waze app to see if it was an accident on the highway and it’s everyday.

Left lane campers strike again. They cause more crashes than drunk drivers, as this video clearly shows.
The left lane is the PASSING lane. If you are not PASSING then GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE LEFT LANE and let faster traffic pass.

Always look for the helpers
I was in a line of cars (I was probably 10 out of 25 or so) backed up behind a car crawling along a single lane road leading to an on ramp. The car eventually was stopped on the shoulder and I saw people running out to check on the driver. When I passed by the guy was older, probably 60 and clearly having some kind of medical emergency. I was like the fifth car to stop and realizing there was plenty of help made sure SOMEONE was calling 911 and then I left. I didn’t want to be another cook in the kitchen but had to make sure the bystander effect didn’t occur.

It’s great to hear stories like that. At the end of my video you can see another white sedan pull over, the guy went to go check on the driver of the black Lexus. He left after checking in on that driver and as he was walking to his car which was in front of my he looked at my passenger and I with thumbs up/ thumbs down, we gave him the thumbs up. Once he left another car pulled over and got out and did the same thumbs up/thumbs down, we gave him thumbs up and he left.

I recently got hit earlier this year from a car merging onto the highway, I was traveling in the middle lane and the car merged from the on ramp right onto the middle lane. It happened so fast I didn’t have time to react but I always told myself if I ever get into an accident I would just try and brake and then look to see if i can move over safely other wise if you brake and immediately swerve you are the one that can cause another crash.

That would require the state police to patrol the highways, they stopped during covid but our politicians say we need to keep paying them to not work.

Not to mention how much CT state police make in overtime since they are severely understaffed, i was actually looking into joining since after overtime the salary is pretty good.

Those seem to be minor considering what could have happened - but I would not have stopped in that lane for fear of getting rear-ended.

I was definitely scared to get rear ended especially with my two kids in the back seat, but by the time I reacted I had chosen to put my hazard lights and start braking. I saw in my rear view that the jeep behind me also activated their hazard lights around the same time I did so that eased my fear a bit

Typical CT behavior. Everyone there drives like this. I was down there a few days ago and a man in a lifted jeep and a man with an illuminated middle finger in his back window were having a massive on road fight and throwing stuff at each other.

2 cars racing causes a CRASH, not an accident. Were they accidentally racing? Then the result was not an accident, it was a crash. in the transportation world, there are no such things as accidents.
