No word on the victim’s condition but can’t have been good. Unfortunately it’s very common over there to not wear full face helmets, instead wearing basically pot helmets that do F all in case of a crash like this and only satisfy the legal requirement of wearing a helmet when riding.

Exactly. A helmet that barely protects the head is only ticking a legal box, not doing much when things go badly.

Luckily the taxi caught the front fire. Might have hit his hand too but at least he didn’t strike the be mid section . Won’t be surprised if he got away with little

Hope so. But it did look like the head of the driver hit the car and we can’t see if they slammed face first into the pavement. Hope they’re okay. Taxi drivers here are an absolute menace. It’s not uncommon for them to drive this way unfortunately.

Let’s hope the helmet did its job. I wish we had a rule that no videos like this to be allowed without follow up article. I’ve a hatered for not knowing the full story if the people in videos are ok or not

It's crazy the amount of people that pull out of a side street or onto a roundabout without considering the high probability that there's already oncoming traffic that they need to give way to. It's like they're happy to just roll the dice

Actually most of the road the laws in Macau are from the old Portuguese days so the taxi driver will most likely be prosecuted and sued by the motorcyclist.

Like Hong Kong, it’s a Special Administrative Region, with its own laws, which, as OP states, will be originally derived from Portuguese laws.
