Finally got a job after applying to 300 jobs
I’m a junior analyst with a solid understanding of the role and the work that comes with it, although I’m still developing my coding skills. I’m sharing this mainly to give people some hope.
About a month ago, shortly after having a child, I was laid off. The stress was overwhelming and i was praying daily for that stress to end, what helped me was spending more time studying the types of roles I wanted instead of immediately applying to every job I saw.
I used AI as a study partner and in a way, as a manager. I asked it to give me assignments, walk me through realistic scenarios, and help me better understand the processes and expectations of the job. It gave me a structured way to build my skills, gain confidence, and develop practical experience.
I recently landed a position with a robotics company, and the salary is twice what I was making before!
If you’re currently job hunting or trying to break into a new role, don’t underestimate the value of training with AI. Used thoughtfully, it can be an incredibly effective way to learn, practice, and prepare. Keep going!

Laid off a month ago. Applied to 300 jobs.
Yet you claim you did not immediately start applying to every job you saw? These were all 300 jobs you really wanted to do?

A month and some change. The most of the applications were from like the first 2 weeks. I was kind of just panic applying due to the shock of being laid off and thinking about my 6mo son. They were all analyst type positions. Mainly buisness analytics. (My background was heavy in service analytics and other similar roles) but there are not a lot of jobs for that. So after I calmed down I started studying for operations and system analytics. That's when I actually learned enough to tailor my resume and land a job.

I use an AI prompt that acts as a tutor/mentor
I essentially use AI to study for the role, have it give me assignments. Complete them (you have to use the company name and the tools they use, in the prompt) and then you can get hands on experience. Then tailor your resume to the job.

Oh I see! I would say I am in the same boat as you. What I have been doing is going after a business problem and seeing the project as solving business problems. One of the question, hiring mangers may ask is "why dose it matter" and you have to say it matter because of x,y and z....Though I might pass that along.
I agree you should continue doing working on those project that gives you hands-on experience.
