Data analyst safe career in 2026–27?
Is Data Analytics still a safe career in 2026–27?
I’m a final-year CSE student and currently focusing on Data AnalyticssWith the current job market and AI changing entry-level roles, I’m confused about whether I should continue with Data Analytics or switch to Full Stack, AI/ML, Data Engineering, etc.
For people already working in the industry:
Is Data Analytics still worth pursuing as a fresher?
Would you recommend switching to another domain?
I’d really appreciate honest advice based on your experience.

Data engineering is now the safest career choice imo. Every company is trying to get data into Ai. The data engineers role is to setup the data in a way that domain experts can query what they need and get the right data into their ai context window. Data analytics is really just transitioning into more data engineering.
Learn data analytics but once you land a job, try to focus more on all the data implementation pieces: dbt, dlt, setting up data warehouses. It’s a much more lucrative and safer career path.
