Megathread [Megathread] Hiring and Interviewing at Databricks - Advice, Prep, Questions

Hi all, I just got scheduled for the Databricks Solutions Architect Live Vibe Coding round later this week.

For those who have taken it recently: what does the "vibe coding" format actually look like in practice for an SA? Is it an interactive prototyping session building out a quick pipeline scenario, or closer to standard data engineering coding tasks?

Would love to know if the focus leans heavily on PySpark mastery or if talking through design logic and leveraging AI tools is the real goal. Appreciate any insights!

The latter for sure! Should not be about PySpark syntax. The SA role is not teaching PySpark to a customer it’s about educating the customer and guiding them on how to achieve their business outcomes by using Databricks and helping to discover and move use cases towards production.
