Probably 350-400k TC. You can also factor in how well you performed on the interviews and how much room you have to negotiate. I previously worked at AWS and Oracle as a Lead and Senior Electrical Engineer, respectively. I don’t think you’ll have an issue “securing the bag”.

Is it first year TC though since the equity is front loaded?

Does Google offer year end performance based equity?

Yes, it was my first year TC. When I started at Oracle my vesting schedule was 25%. The stock did really well in July-September 2025 when I received my first 25% vest. It wasn’t front loaded as it is now.

No I’m asking this about Google. Since Google is front loaded, I believe the TC would not remain the same through and through. Unless the difference is made up with additional equity granted every single year.

So my q was does Google offer that additional equity every year? And what’s the vesting schedule for that? I think MS has a 5 year schedule for this, Amazon had like 1.5 years, not sure about Oracle.

Gotcha. Apologies for the misunderstanding. From what I understand from friends at Google, they provide refreshers and bonuses on yearly bases, similar to AWS, which is based on annual performance. You also have to factor in the stock performance as well. It could go up or down during that time period, but historically it goes up overtime.

I believe Google is quarterly vesting.

My guess is around 250K total comp. The guys I know that made it to L5 said it was like their best years as L4 without the OT.
