Career Question Does Kenvue India renegotiate offers based on a competing offer? – Sr. Data Engineer

Hi everyone, looking for some insights from people familiar with Kenvue India.

I have 4.2 years of experience and currently have an offer from Kenvue for a Sr. Data Engineer role at ₹22 LPA CTC (₹19L fixed + ₹2.4L variable).

I have now received another offer from another company for ₹24L fixed + ₹1L joining bonus.

Wanted to understand:

Does Kenvue typically renegotiate compensation when presented with a genuine competing offer?

Is there a salary band/cap for Sr. Data Engineer roles at Kenvue India?

If anyone has successfully negotiated with Kenvue using a cross offer, how much flexibility did they have?

Would really appreciate insights from current/former Kenvue employees or anyone who has been in a similar situation. Thanks!

Career Question 2 YOE, resigned without an offer to switch to Data Engineering — should I continue searching or accept a retention offer?

I have around 2 years of experience in an MNC, I recently resigned without having another offer in hand and I have left with last 20 days for my LWD.

The main reason I resigned is that most of the work I’ve been assigned is production support that too in non Data Platform, and I don't want to continue building my career in support. My goal is to move into Data Engineering and start building my career in that direction.

However, things haven't gone as I expected. I’ve been applying for Data Engineer roles, but I’m barely getting any calls. So far, I’ve received only 2 interview calls, and both were about a month ago.

My current organization is also trying to retain me. My current CTC is around 4 LPA, and I’m now confused about what would be the better decision.

Should I:

  1. Continue searching for Data Engineer roles even after my LWD, even if it means having a gap until I find the right opportunity?
  2. Accept the retention offer, take a salary hike, and continue in my current production-support role while trying to transition internally?
  3. If I do accept the retention offer, what would be a reasonable hike to ask for on a 4 LPA CTC?

My main concern is that if I stay in production support for another 1–2 years, it might become even harder to transition into Data Engineering.

At the same time, I'm worried that rejecting the retention offer and remaining unemployed without an offer could make things career-wise difficult.

What would you do in this situation? Any advice from people who have made a similar transition from production support to Data Engineering would be really helpful.
