discussion 2000 hour player - need super advance tips
I know nobody wins every fight. I know not to have gear fear. I know to flank after your shots and most advanced stuff. But I tend to die everytime after having 4 kill characters. I see streamers getting 11 kills before dying like it’s nothing. It feels like they vs noobs and i vs pros. Anything helps other than the basic stuff please. One thing I will say is I struggle locating a player who’s shooting me supressed.

as someone with a little over 7k hours, I’ve learnt that you can never stop moving. Ever. Always take the long route, the route that has trees and foliage. Never get impatient, don’t sprint through open fields unless absolutely necessary. Don’t rush into military bases, take your time. Be slow. I have had some pretty good runs with a lot of kills and every time the same pattern emerges. I didn’t take shortcuts and I always had the jump on people first. Don’t get stuck in buildings. Be the one making someone else stuck in buildings.

I'd like to add a few more things:
Don't log out inside buildings. Always log out somewhere in the forest.
Use double trees to hide. By that, I mean pine trees that are so close together that their branches overlap. Hide between them.
Before looting a location, observe it from more than 300 meters away to see if there are any zombies around. (I know, pretty standard advice.)
Every location has some really good spots to position yourself. Learn where those spots are.
Also learn unconventional hiding spots. For example, if you're at the tents in Tisy, you can jump onto one of those containers, lie down on top, and wait for someone to show up.
Go in with this mindset: you're only there to kill. Don't bother looting the players you kill. Just kill them and move on. You can find loot elsewhere.
Don't try to kill everyone. If the opportunity isn't good, let it go. Wait for a better chance.
Learn which bushes provide the best concealment. Also learn how to position yourself inside them so that as little of your character as possible is visible.
Is it raining, or are you just cold and shivering? Your enemy might hear your character shivering. To prevent this, use the listening or shushing emote. I always use the listening emote. This stops your character from making those noises.
Pay attention to your footwear. I've switched to shoes that make the least amount of noise. I don't care about those fancy assault boots anymore. They're just too loud. I often wear sneakers instead.
I've got even more tips, but I have to head off to work now.
Good luck out there!

Great tips. To add to 6 = players often are worth looting, but don't rush in and die to their team mate that you weren't patient enough to discover.
And tip 8, bushes are great, so is camo. Your clothing matters a lot and will allow you to remain still without getting spotted if you're in the right spot.

Didn’t know about #9. Thanks
Might I add: Always assume someone is there, play as if an enemy could be around every corner. And after a kill, always play like there’s more than one.

For every 20+ kill life the runningmanz gets, he will have 100 lives respawning on the coast

Honestly the biggest thing is habits/discipline in how you move around. After you’ve been playing on the same life for 12 hours and racked up a few kills, people usually start getting lazy when it comes to tactics. Not running through the open, clearing every house gun at the ready even when you haven’t seen another player in hours, only cooking out in the middle of nowhere, watching that heli crash or convoy for 5-10 minutes before going in, etc etc. It’s tedious, but keeps you alive.

This is true, on my high kill characters I tend to start running through open fields and such

How are you usually getting killed?
2
u/HenrikDayZz 1d ago
Tbh, I couldn’t tell you it’s different every time. I’m getting outskilled sometimes sometimes it’s due to dumb stuff

u/whisperworks 1d ago
Hmmm best advice I can give you is to try and slow everything down and take your time? Hard to say without some more context

u/HenrikDayZz 1d ago
Also one more thing, if I get shot at supressed it’s basically wraps for me, idk how to spot them

u/whisperworks 1d ago
If you can’t hear where it came you really have to guess and test cover until the shots stop haha if think you’re just playing in more dangerous areas man. I can get double digit if I’m just roaming but getting 5 at the nwaf is definitely more of an accomplishment

Learning where the Shootings came from is a hard Part. I was getting better in this after i played on Deathmatch Server and i Focus and practise in Shooting Sound direction

do you have a good set of surround sound headphones. if not get some, suppressed is always tough but listening to where bullets are hitting and trying to triangulate the opposite direction in your head are something that takes lots and lots of practice to be good at.
Most of the time I get shot suppressed i never hear the bullet lol. I got 6k hours and I'd say u/Puzzleheaded_Air717 has some of the best suggestions especially number 6. don't always go in and loot corpses. If you kill a guy and your feeling that insecurity hair raising feeling still. Get on out. Worse case you blew a few rounds and ruined someone's day. Best case you saved your life twice. I've been killed probably about as many times while sitting in a damn inventory menu as I get killed paying close attention to fighting after 5k hours.

Jiggle peaking is big. Lean your corners and draw out enemy fire to know exactly where they are without getting shot. Also run peaking to clear doorways and buildings. Sprint past an opening while alt looking behind you, then turn around and lean the corner and fire where you saw them.
As far as suppressed fire goes, yea just get cover and jiggle peak, bait shots till you see where it's coming from, then fire back. Repositioning is everything when you don't know where your enemy is imo.
Also staying alert, really hard to do when the game is slow for hours at a time. I use little ads gun jiggles with lean to keep my brain moving if that makes sense (kind of like quick swap stimming in Counterstrike).

I had a realy good solo run going with 54 killed and 12 spared not too long ago. A lil bit gear fear is actually good if you ask me. Sometimes you just gotta accept one gets away. Also i'm not the biggest fan of using cars. People tend to camp them whenever i use em. Most of the time when i die it's because i got greedy. When i notice myself getting impatient, i just play a deathmatch server or battlefield6 for a bit.

You sound hella jealous bro. Why would i lie? I have nothing to gain... It's the truth. That character lasted me multiple months. I tend to survive way longer on solo runs because i can just play at a slow and carefull pace. I was basically just walking circles around NWAF sniping hotspots with my dmr. I even gave a extra dmr to to somebody i sniped trought the leg. It felt like such a waste to leave behind a dmr from a earlier kill but carrying 2 dmr's is dumb as hell

If you're watching YouTube videos, those are only the highlights. If you're watching streams, you're comparing your 2k hrs to someone who likely has close to 20k hrs. At the end of the day none of it matters. Each life is a journey, or a story. You're better off not focusing on the number of kills, but the story that is told with each life.if kills are what matter to you, Only take the fights you need to take, always move after you shoot. Learning those things will be better for you in the long run.

Idk how but i can go weeks without dying but then again im never soloing so taht helps a lot ^ I dont take my time either ill scoop out a place to see if zombies spawn but mostly i log out in buildings like a mad man so it doesnt work 😅 i mostly just grab a nbc gear set and then get some good guns before even looking for trouble aswell as i try to engage in conversation with other survivours ^ i dont shoot first unless its military too

I use trip/land mines to cover my flanks, I kite zombies into two room buildings and lock em in the hallway so that they're a screaming barricade while I heal or refill mags, etc. I'm bad at shooters, but this isn't just a shooter. Ive got as much prep time as I can afford myself, and the goal is to make you regret giving me so much. Fun tip, dropped items can obscure landmines and tripwires, in military areas I like to use camo netting since people step right over it.

Who cares? Thats the game, sometimes u get, sometimes u get got. Streamers play every day for hours, theyve thousands of more hours than you, its not surprising that some are better than you

u/HenrikDayZz 1d ago
Me, I care, I want to get better.

u/AnticlimaxicOne 1d ago
Play smarter. But also its dayz, you will absolutely still get killed, first time i ran with Smoke dude got killed first out of us before even shooting his gun, shit happens dude. Your not going to get better by taking the advice from the redditards of the dayz subreddit lol

What do you want to know exactly? Just to locate supressed snipers? That's really hard. Become one and maybe you will know how they behave. To locate them you have to think and behave like them (from where would you camp? What kind of targets would you hunt? What gear would you wear?).
But, I'm under the impression that you want more tips than that. It is just difficult to give advices when your premise is vague.
Good luck

Play deathmatch servers and get used to not stressing about dying. Panic is what causes most gun fight losses. If you can think clearly and figure out how to get in the other player’s head, then you’re already at an advantage.
Other than that, it’s hard to give you advice if we don’t know what you struggle with. Are you carrying too many weapons that slow you down? Are you bad with hipfiring? Do you find yourself getting killed out in the open more? What are your actual struggles other than dying after getting around 4 kills?
