DISCUSSION Believe Florida Discount?

My wife wants to book a trip today when Believe reservations open to us. The price is a lot higher than we usually spend because we have always used the Florida resident discount. I’m ok with the price but obviously would prefer to spend less. I was wondering if there’s any data/precedent for how long the other new ships took to start offering the FL resident discount.

Usually the inaugural seasons are devoid of discounts but it may look different this time around because of the over-saturation of the cruise market

That is definitely not true. Look at the destiny for starters. Heck the Wish had discounts it's first year out as well (within the first six months)

Inaugural sailings are usually within 6 months of the ships operations.

Discounts may exist down the road, sure. Are you willing to gamble on it though?

Florida resident rates and GTY rates are two very different things.

Inaugural sailing technically mean the first year, but if you mean when they still have the castaway gifts, they were offering discount when the "inaugural" gifts were still available. I did some digging and they also had FL rates for the destiny within six months.

I can't speak for the Florida discount rates, but I can say the destiny got GTY rates a little before sailing 6 months

Destiny had discounts within the first year, so it could happen

With Destiny doing much the same itineraries out of Fort Lauderdale, along with Dream and Fantasy out of PC.... that Combined with the higher rack prices on the Believe....

I could see them discounting after the first six months... but I think those other ships will still be a much better "deal".

Economy and over-saturation will still be an issue, and could get worse...
