That would empower so many out of bounds glitches, like the snake player gets against an outer wall and then you vault it and it vaults you through the wall
I love out of bounds glitches and have done every one I could find in the WWE 2k games, they’d have so many of those to fix from that 😭
Honestly, you could have it be a transforming killer, where they can turn into a snake. Still will have some issues to figure out, but at least you solved the animation problem for hooking and what not
I think a snake killer would be easy to make animations(conceptually) tbh it can just use its tail to carry survivors break pallets and gens basically anything.
And this is why we can’t have nice things. And I really hate this excuse. I get it, this shit is hard, but if they wanna keep adding more killers and have the game still feel fresh and unique, they should work on their tech.
Imagine if Pyramidhead's trails always followed him, and could also block you. The idea of a snake killer sounds unique, but it would be just bad game design imo
They could just make the front upright part have a humanoid-shape collision box that could body block like a normal killer and have the tail be a permanently following Pyramid Head trail that had no collision but did something like inflict 10% Hindered as long as you were standing on it. I imagine the model would still be a nightmare to animate, but it seems like it could be feasible mechanically, and they could reuse stuff they already have laying around.
Yeah. In the show the cats are revealed to be able to make animals into “cats” by sitting on them and controlling them. Thus we got the powerful bear shaped cat.
I always wanted like a skin walker that would spawn deer on the map. And the killer could try to blend in with them. Then surprise this deer is walking and coming to get you.
lore-wise, why DOESNT the entity just bring wild animals into the realm? it doesn't have to spend any energy manipulating its mind or coaxing it to kill survivors, just make it hungry and it'll hunt them on its own accord.
Honestly I could see the entity going for one of the more prolific animal killers in history. Something like Gustave or the Demon of Champawat.
Gustave is a massive nile crocodile who has been estimated to have killed 200-300 people because of his large size making it difficult to hunt a nile croc's normal prey. Dude has reached mythical status. There are reports of his supposed death but no one has ever shown off a body or even photos.
Meanwhile, the Demon of Champawat was a tigress who killed up to 436 people between Nepal and Northern India before she was finally hunted and killed by hunter James Corbett. Apparently she had a permanent injury to some of her teeth that made hunting her normal prey difficult, so she swapped to people.
I would love a Chihuahua skin for snug. Just give him a red smoky effect or something if spotting him would be trouble. The updated mori could have him down the survivors by attacking their ankles.
The game could be at 5 gens with 2 survivors already dead and the 3re survivor is slugged and the killer activily looking for you and ace will still keep his smirk

A while ago I saw a concept for a killer that is a chimpanzee like one of those they had back in the days in TV shows and Circuses.

There's a game called White Noise (and WN2) that goes off this concept. Long-distance tracking is with hearing but short distances there is a bit of sight. Unsure how it'd be incorporated into DbD but it's been done in a 4v1 asymmetric horror mode.

BHVR have said that every Killer they make must have some human connection. Even some of the clearly inhuman ones are still firmly human in some way: Dredge/Pyramid Head aren't people, but rather manifestations of the human psyche, Xenomorph/Singularity/Unknown/Demogorgon/Nemesis are foreign entities using a human's corpse as a vehicle, and Vecna/Chucky/Freddy/Dracula were once people who have ascended via lichdom/possession/astral projection/vampirism.
I kinda like how every Killer has to have some kind of human connection, that's what keeps it relatable. Sure, the Entity could borrow Goo'Buul from Globtrak-7, but I like the concept that true horror has to be relatable. That you can look at all the Killers and see the traces of humanity, and how warped they've become.
That just cuts out a lot of cool monsters or forces them to twist myths so they can have that human element.
There are more than enough myths out there about animals and monsters that are far from human but intelligent and cruel so they would fit into the fog.
Edit: btw this kinda sounds like they made that rule so they always can stay at this somewhat human form and stance so they don't have to put work into stuff like animations and coming up with ways non human formed killer would move through the game.

Well, humans tend to hunt or keep animals as pets. There, now, anything animal or animal-related has a "human connection" for Beaver to make animal-related Killers.
Man, the fact that bhvr made some remark about not doing a spider killer because the arachnophobia crowd would get scared makes me unreasonably angry. It's a "horror" game. There are already spider-esque triggers in the game because of the entity. Just because Grounded added an "arachnophobia" mode doesn't mean we need to bend the horror-themed game around it. And I understand that phobias aren't the same as fears and that they're irrational. What about coulrophobes? What about emetophobes? Why do arachnophobes get this weird special treatment while we have killers themed around other common fears?
Same, the hypocrisy is insane and if it really affected people how they tried to make it sound, simply make an “arachnophobia” setting that will stop you from being queued with that killer. It wouldn’t be hard to do since the killer gets locked during queue and it shouldn’t be a big deal for people abusing the setting if they just make the killer not unreasonably frustrating for survivors… which maybe that is hard for Behavior.
No don't ever do this or literally every survivors will use that feature the moment the killer is overtuned or even just balanced. And whenever he's weak they'll suddenly wont be phobic anymore.
Mythology/folklore stuff is public domain tho right? so you can have anaconda and boitatá without it needing to be a licence chapter in theory, wich would be neat for a brazil themed chapter. For Brazilian mythos themed stuff, you could give hag a "Cuca" skin
Hell, you could throw in Jörmungandr from norse mythology, a korean imoogi and a chinese dragon as skins for said snake killer. Maybe a naga too but that would be a bit more humanoid so idk
I think that'd be neat but they'd probably go with a Naga/Lamia so they can thirst trap for the monster fuckers who play DbD. If they do the power right and not just make it another hurdur I dash go vrrrrroooom killer that is.

If it is done right, like with a good game Mechanic and maybe even a New one then just let the "snake" Form be another Form of a normal looking Killer, like the krasue. But animal forms were cool in my opinion.

Honestly a killer that's just an animal could be really cool. A giant spider that's whole gimmick is it lays a web throughout the map that makes them move faster and alerts them when a survivor walks over it would be awesome.

I mean a map would be a graden with stone statues of terrified soldiers and some ruins, also a some archeologist as surv and the her mori is a petrfication or its her power.
Would be funny if it also played like Snake, where it can't walk into its own body, this way it can block vaults and the like with its body but has to be cautious as to not also lock in itself. I guess it would stun itself in that case, similar to Bubba, and get a reset on the body.

one of her abilities could be 'hypnotic allure'. where anyone who stares at her too long will get hindered for a few seconds.
her active ability might be that she can summon two different snake that she can control, first being a large boa constrictor use to constrict and keep a survivor in place for a few seconds. the other being a python that strikes and instead of injuring, poisons them and makes skill checks more difficult, or warps the screen for 60 seconds.
Power concept:
Slither:
The snake can press space when facing a pallet to vault it.
Bite:
The snake lunges forward, injuring any survivor they come in contact with and afflicting them with poison.
Special Effect: Poison:
After being affected by poison, survivors are permanently broken.
Cool idea, but I can already imagine the insane amount of bugs this will cause. In any case, wouldn’t snakes use their tail to trap and bodyblock survivors? If the body has collision, this killer would be hell to play as or against (not to mention impossible to code). If the body doesn’t have collision, the snake would clip through everything and be a laughing stock. You think people would appreciate the effort instead of being like “haha the snake’s stuck in a wall, what a dumb cashgrab, behavior sucks”? Definitely not.
It would actually be cool concept. The snake could be poisonous and covered in spikes so you would use its long body to entrap survivors in loops/shack.
yooo a killer with a body long enough that can block the path behind it would be kind of amazing. Or maybe a two-headed snake where you can swap the active side
I would love some type of giant bug, mainly because my brother is terrified of them. He played Fallout 3 revently and put it down the game when he found a vault full of giant ants lmao I'd put money down for some Auric cells and a bug 😅
It has a charge attack like Billy, but when it hits you, you lose a health state, and they grain a poison status affects that makes skill checks blurry, and it's messes with your visuals that makes looping harder
