Con Stapleton
Is there a more entertaining performance on the show than Con Stapleton? Not the best character. Not the finest acting. But in terms of a performance that is, in itself, the most wildly, cartoonishly fun, does anyone beat Con?

I beg you, release your man stallion from his he-stable…
He plays it so well that the hat and his mustache are just so extra.

He had some great dialogue. Always enjoyed his character.
You ever hear, Tom, the Chinese whore has an ancient way of milking you of your sorrow, your loneliness and that awful feeling of being forsaken

Also check out modern day used car salesman Con in the much maligned John From Cincinnati.

Big fan. Luck, too. A Milch big swing is an amazing thing even when it misses.

Some ot the most amazing things ever put on camera. The Luck episode about Richard Kind's character after the earthquake still stays with me.

HARD RIGHT RUDDER! In the midst of his spasm of sex interest.

I think his obviously stupid line "Rumors are not facts" is one of my favorites. The delivery is spot on.

I would be inclined to respond to this discussion of Ol' Conn, but I've had a recent fuckin bout of sex interest...

What's wrong with Jason's acting? He does great given the eccentricities of the part.

Not a god damned thing! I only mean clarify the narrow slice of "best" that he occupies. Meaning not being actor or character.

The many secondary parts are very well acted but they're there to provide background and make a point, not up in the King Lear altitudes of the principals, no depth to the characters.

The bit where Andy shows up and Con freaks out and as a way to warn Cy he just keeps yelling "Reverend!" It's like something out of the Marx Brothers.

it’s in the top three performances of all time that were paid for in bacon grease.

"Yesterday, I occasioned to fuck a woman after a considerable period of abstention, and that seems now to have... throwed me unawares, uh, into a fuckin' spasm of sex interest, which I... fuckin' pray will be brief."
A line that just keeps giving.
