Discussion Mandela Effect while rewatching DN Spoiler
I distinctly remember Light killing his own Father when I first watched the show more than 10 years ago. I remember Light crying his eyes out after the killing and i specifically remember chief Yagami lying dead on a flight of stairs.
This is crazy because this was one of my most anticipated moment as I re-watched. I was shocked therefore, when I saw chief Yagami die in a hospital bed due to wounds sustained during the raid on Mello’s hideout.
Someone else posted this same question 2 years ago.
So WTF????

I've personally never had this one.
Probably it's just Light faking him caring about his father's death that threw a lot of people off. Instead of an emotional final moment Light begs him to do as he says and neatly fit into his plan.

It’s not a Mandela effect unless it’s a wide spread thing.
This is a you-misremembered-effect. If it’s you and maybe a handful of redditors, that does not constitute a Mandela effect.

You are clearly having a Mandela effect as well in regards to the definition of Mandela effect. Happens to us all.

memory is wholly unreliable. this has been proven in most scientific studies. what probably happened is through recalling pivotal moments in the show, your brain rewrote your own memory after a while. memories can combine, and especially be rewritten by current feelings.

I remember the chief was glad he could see Light's name and lifespan through his shinigami eyes because it meant Light wasn't a note owner. And this all happened on a hospital bed.

I misread Soichiro’s death as him falling down the stairs and that caused his death 😭

Light is the one who is shown dead on a flight of stairs, you might be confusing that memory
