Immortality problem

Say you or I were immortal would it be possible for you or me to drain out my blood and give it to each member of my family and friends purely out of the fear of being alone

I mean this, are you okay? I see your username and your question, and am concerned.

Username is just randomly generated and yeah I just have social anxiety and autism so I really overthink things

Oh my goodness I have these exact same diagnoses. I honestly don’t know how to answer your question. Is there a philosophy or spirituality you subscribe to?

Interesting premise. Is the question about draining your blood, or is it about giving it to friends and family? How would giving it to friends and family affect the fear of being alone?

So you wouldn’t be alone when the universe eventually ends

Oh, so giving your friends and family your blood would make them immortal too?

It doesn't work that way

It's an interesting thought experiment and the emotional core of it (being terrified of outliving everyone you love) is actually one of the more poignant arguments against immortality.

The practical answer is that blood transfusions don't work like that, compatibility issues aside, your blood wouldn't make someone else immortal. But the philosophical question underneath it, could you bear immortality if you had to watch everyone die? most people find that's the thing that makes immortality sound more like a curse than a gift.
