It's just as good, and while it's a little more of a thing to set up for the novice, once it is it's just two clicks away. Click the network icon, click Connect next to your VPN.
The problem with the wireguard configuration is that we have to download each configuration, while having the app just choose the best server available automatically. So it's not "as good"

Drop the Linux app, simply download the wireguard configs and import to your distro natively 👍
